Witch in winter

I finally got round to exploring the 30L Midwinter Fair yesterday and I was seriously impressed. There's lots of great shopping there, gachas for 30L a pull, 30L items for sale, and lots of dicsounts.

If that wasn't enough, there's a whole pile of free gifts for you under the tree. I haven't even unwrapped those yet.

I'm wearing a dress (common) and leather top (part of the rare) from May's Soul Derire gacha.  Sleeves are from a slightly older gacha by May - Arcana, which will soon be re-appearing at the mainstore.

The cloak (second and third photos) is from the Junbug gacha. I was lucky enough to get the uncommon black on my first pull. The rare white cloak is gorgeous, but I've given up chasing rares for the sake of my linden balance!

The fair runs until 24 December, so try and take a break from midwinter madness to check it out.

The blackened crown

Only two days to go until Fantasy Gacha Carnival opens - and I haven't even featured everything I'd like to. There really are so many amazing things this round.

The mini-cape is the rare from one of Junbug's gachas, and differs from the commons by having a fur trim. There's a wide range of satin colours among the commons, and three fur textures. Gown is from Peqe, and the leggings from Yasum.

The rings and staff are from On a Lark, and the hand jewels are part of the Aaliyah sets from Luas. Belt and armbands are from Luminary, and finally the crown is from ieQED.

All poses are by Infiniti, and you can get them at Enchantment, which also opens on 1 February. 'The better to see you with' set is made of poses featuring hands close to the face - perfect for showing off jewelry or artful nails!

The static poses of 'Running scared' are very dynamic - I love poses which suggest a sense of movement, and these certainly do that. I've found they can have very interesting effects with mesh gowns (another post to follow!) so try them out, and see what you think...

Morgana gowns from The Plastik

The Morgana gowns are a recent mesh release from The Plastik.  They come in a range of prints - some grungy textures, strong florals or geometric prints, and a series of galactic options.

The grunge, floral or solid options would work for Free Women - just add undershirt or sleeves. The galactic prints are more science fiction or supernatural... could be a nice alternative option for a chic witch this Halloween! (Photos after the jump.)

Some of the makeups are relatively "subtle", like the Silver featured in these first photos, or the Noir, which is heavy on the black. For the most part, they're riotously colourful. At the moment these makeups are exclusive to the Body Modification Expo which runs until November 3.

I've included the contact sheet from The Beautiful Plastik Machine blog at the end of the post, just before the credits.

Fantasy Faire 2013: Misha from Luas, poses from Musa

Misha is the first item from Fantasy Faire, and it's one of the new Relay for Life offerings from Luas. It's part mesh, featuring a full mesh skirt in five sizes, alpha, clothing layer top, prim shoulder pads, belt and crown, plus a triskel necklace to finish the look off.

Something wicked...

~Soedara~ Here Comes Wicked - Of the Dark

Wickedness is a myth invented by good people to account for the curious attractiveness of others Oscar Wilde

'Here Comes Wicked' is the latest release from Soedara and just like Shaman Enchantress, it's pretty dark, and mostly for bad girls. Very bad girls.

Crayola Crayons Color Challenge: Week 8, outer space

Outer Space

I threw the proverbial kitchen sink at this one with lots of layering; who would have thought 'grey' would be tricky to match?

Never mind, I'm sure that somewhere among the outfit's very many shades of grey (resisting the obvious pun) there is the perfect match for Outer Space.

It's already week 8 of Softpaw's challenge; aaargh, how did that happen?!

The gown is from The White Armory, but full credits (and a song!) after the jump.

Free silks! Persephone on the lucky chair at Wishbox

GRRR, my SL just did not want to co-operate tonight. Anytime I wanted to tweak something, *crash*. So as a result, a quick post. With two photos taken on different sims, in between crashes!

These are the lovely Persephone silks, brought to you by the adorable Wisp Jinn at Wishbox. And for a slap on the board, they could be yours (but probably not tonight, Wednesday, as I think it's already locked. Try tomorrow!)

They're black too, so could be handy for Hallowe'en?

Dark vintage: A look from Vintage Fair

More Vintage Fair finds: this time, a dark formal look. Bargainistas rejoice, as the main part of this outfit is a 10L gown from 1-800-Bettie's (as blogged over on FabFree).

In fact, I was inspired by this skin from BRAT[inc] (another in the blogger's pack). It's called PinUp Brat T1 Extreme Monroe, but the smooth texture and strong make-up said GOTH to me, so I ran with the theme and landed on the stunning Venexia dark'n'vampy roleplay sim.

Soedara - Saman din Zori mesh roleplay outfit

Soedara's Saman din Zori (meaning: Shaman of the Sun) outfit is maybe her most versatile yet.

It comes in earthy and 'exotic' tones, and could be worn by sweet submissives, hard-working girls, or raggle-taggle gypsies. The leather textured options are perfect for panthers, amazons or huntresses. It also has a mystic edge (reflected in the name), rendering it suitable for wood elves, witches and wiccans, nature spirits, and wild girls of all sorts.

The character I imagined for the photos is a kind of forest guardian - an Artemis without a bow.

One Voice: The dark side...

Feeling a little malevolent in your Second Life today? Well there are plenty of Curio-supporting pieces you can pick up at One Voice to enhance your witchy/vamp/outlaw/ all-round bad girl rep...

The main outfit is from Thalia's Fashions. When I wore it first, the skirt actually came up quite short (don't panic! it's mod!)... but I decided I liked this look! It has a little bit of an 80s gothic-y vibe, with the outfit's glitch pants standing in for leggings. Check it out in the second pic.

The stunning and slightly spooky skin is from Glam Affair - their skins are always lush. Full details at the end!
