So, I'm back! It seems like there's been an insane amount of stuff happening event-wise these days. Unfortunately, my SL is very laggy (is it the ridiculous inventory I'm dragging around?) so exploring is not so much fun.

Anyway, less complaining, more fashion.

Vurdah of the Desert is a recent release from Soedara, and it's funky mesh top and harem pants combo. a You get three versions of the top; in these photos, I'm wearing the slightly-sheer version. Also included are the belt, anklets, bangles, upperarm bands, face chain and diamond bindi.

(PSSST, the gold colour of the outfit is 160L, almost half price, on the marketplace as a promotion. I don't know how long this will last.)

Okay, two quick crayon colour challenge posts tonight to get caught up - and make sure I'm on schedule with next week's colour, which seems to be the Halloween edition.

This outfit (Bugaboo from Evie's Closet, a prize from a previous Moolto hunt) has a lot of different colours going on, but I figure the wings and that peachy shade in the skirt and elsewhere should hopefully match?

That's the closest I've got to this colour (awkward peachy-orange!) so it will have to do!

Morgana gowns from The Plastik

The Morgana gowns are a recent mesh release from The Plastik.  They come in a range of prints - some grungy textures, strong florals or geometric prints, and a series of galactic options.

The grunge, floral or solid options would work for Free Women - just add undershirt or sleeves. The galactic prints are more science fiction or supernatural... could be a nice alternative option for a chic witch this Halloween! (Photos after the jump.)

Some of the makeups are relatively "subtle", like the Silver featured in these first photos, or the Noir, which is heavy on the black. For the most part, they're riotously colourful. At the moment these makeups are exclusive to the Body Modification Expo which runs until November 3.

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 29, Leather Jacket

I thought this colour would be really hard, and though this colour isn't a perfect match, I think I managed okay.

In truth, I had some White Armory gowns that might have fit the bill, but TWA seems to have been a bit of of a fallback option in this challenge (weeks 28, 25, 23...plus weeks 8 & 1!). So I decided to push myself and rummage through that wardrobe for something different.

This colour presented something of a dilemma - the RGB colour values looked really different in-world compared to the hexadecimal codes for online. Hmm. I decided to go with the hex code colour, but it meant I had nothing to compare the outfit to in-world.

Anyways, Relay Purple (Softpaw explains all about this non-crayon colour here) offered another The White Armory gown a chance to step forward from the shadows of my inventory and shine!

Triumph of Ariadne reworked

Photographing remains a slow process, due to working around the crashes, so I'm not going to show you *all* the looks possible with Soedara's revamped Triumph of Ariadne silks. 

Although even on a good day, that would be quite a task as the box is full of pieces to play with!

The original outfit was released almost two years ago and it's been thoroughly reworked, now combining unrigged mesh, sculpted prims, flexi parts, and a texture-changing hud for the jewels. (I really like when designers mix up materials - mesh is great, but on its own, it can be a little dull.)

And to bring it fully up to date, there's an applier for your Lola Tangos too.

We Love Role-Play: The Library and Mina

Round 3 of We <3 Role-Play will open on 5 July, and the first review copies have been sent out by The Library and MINA Hair.
 
There's another special event in the works now - a benefit to support Squinternet Larnia, the creator behind the amazing Donna Flora brand.

Sadly, she is gravely ill, and the event will raise money to help her with expenses. Gogo of Juicybomb has written a very eloquent post, so I'll refer you to it for further information.

This colour wasn't too difficult - there've been worse - but it wasn't the easiest either. Nevertheless, my ridiculously enormous inventory proved itself equal to the task again. More info about the challenge on Softpaw's blog.

The lingerie/bikini pictured is an outfit I picked up at a closing sale (Luxuria) and as far as I know is no longer available (though there are other brands with that name operating).

The skin though, is currently available at a special event to benefit a small animal charity. In fact, it's the special edition of Irene from Izzies's and is the companion skin to the one featured in my last post, You get two tones of the skin in the pack, and this is the darker mocha shade. Two shapes are also included.

Wherever I have gone

I ended up on Venexia  again... I'd been looking for an exotic sim, perhaps something with some Moorish influences, to showcase this beautiful mesh gown from The Library. Didn't quite find what I was looking for, but anything Socionex is supremely photogenic, so it made a more than adequate backdrop!

The Scheherazade gown is currently avaiable at a special price at the We <3 Role-Play event. (This round continues till May 31, before making way for a new collection on June 4.) The outfit includes mesh dress in five sizes, belt, armbands and cufs, earrings, veil and scarf.

There's another small event on now that I wanted to tell you about. It's called The Catnip Carnival, and it's been organised by the Avatars for Animals group to benefit small animal charities. This event will help the River Cities Humane Society for Cats in Louisiana, USA look after some needy kitties.

25L classics at On a Lark!

Yay! On a Lark's 25L Tuesday (they're calling it Black Tuesday, so I'm guessing there's going to be some blowout sales on the grid...) offers are out early. As soon as the notecard landed I ran over there to stock up.

Five classic outfits have been out in a bunch of colourways (and they're transfer). Have to say, I especially love OAL's pre-mesh outfits because the boxes are full of so much stuff and can be worn in so many ways. They're ideal for all sorts of medieval and fantasy roleplay.

The good news is the initial target of 20,000 USD has been achieved, but court costs and legal fees have a way of mounting, so it could be that more than this will be needed. So, if you see something you like, my advice is buy it :)

Anyway... I'm being very slow tonight, so on with the post... here's a gorgeous offering from Blacklace in support of Gala, teamed with a gorgeous skin from Izzie's and jewels from {me.}!

One Voice: Lula's floral skirts meet Solange's casual tops

... and begin a beautiful friendship. These two One Voice donation items go together so well - Tte bold colours of Lula's mesh skirts team up so nicely with Solange's casual brocade tops. And serendipitously, there are six colours of each!

Some are a closer fit than others, but because the floral skirts combine so many different shades, you could play around with different tops to find your favourite. I've mostly gone matchy-matchy here :)

The look is accessorised with the Addiction's delicate Temple of Light jewelry set, while new release Kiki from Truth in a white-blonde shade lends an ethereal flavour to the look. (The hair is not a one voice item, every else on the avatar is!)

One Voice: Winter in July

Yup, where I am, the weather outside really is frightful... so inspired by this herringbone tweed-y number from Doves and Crows, I pulled together a wintry look featuring lots more donation items from the One Voice event (everything but the background!)

Add a different top and you could work this look into your roleplay. I love this sweatshirt from The Sea Hole though, and it's available in a range of different colours. The jewelry from {me.} comes with a colour change hud, as do the mesh boots from Thalia's Fashion.

Oh, skin and shape are Gala from Izzie's, and the hair, with hat, is from Censored, and eyes are the Curio set from A.D.D.Andel. Brrr!
