Desert Dream

Back to my roots... silks! The Desert Dream silks are a colourful recent release from Second Moon. It's a traditional set of dancing silks - no mesh, lots of mobile flexis. There are lots of different ways to wear it, and you can mix-and-match with the other desert ranges.

The collar is from The Forge, at  We Love Role-Play. You have until the end of the month to buy it there at a discount before the venue shuts down to prepare for the new round on 4 April.

Beloved nymph, princess of rivers

It's the mermaid round of Genre, but this outfit from The Library would be perfect for kajirae or fae who like wearing silks. It's a mesh outfit, in two pieces - a skirt in the usual five sizes, and a collection of bead necklaces. At 200L it's slightly more expensive than most Genre offerings, but it's still a good price for a really nice outfit.

I grabbed quite a few things at this round, including an outfit from Sweet Lies and a circlet from On a Lark, plus the gift box that Curious Kitties put out.

The Precious Haifa silks - and a free gift - from Soedara

To celebrate her association with Port Haifa, Marbella Pronovost has created the Precious Haifa silks. You can currently grab a special edition of this silk for free at Port Haifa, where Soedara is vendor of the week.

If you like the silk, you should definitely consider the 'deluxe' version of the silks, you get a twin pack of colours. Each colour comes in either silver or gold trim (with matching jewelry), and there are three styles of skirt - long, short and 'slutty'!

You also get armbands and anklets in both silver and gold, and Lola's Tango and PhatAzz appliers. (The freebie includes just one colour silk and the long skirt.)

New round of The Fantasy Collective opens tomorrow

A new round of The Fantasy Collective opens tomorrow (rumours of its demise had been greatly exaggerated) with the inspirational theme of 'Arabian Nights'.

As always the event is full of exclusive goodies - they will not be available again for at least 6 months.

In these pictures, I'm wearing some mesh silks from Sakide, Slink feet add-on shoes from Hopscotch, and hair jewel from Sweet Poison.

The Drapee silks from Soedara

New mesh silks from Soedara! The Drapee silks come in two styles; Beaute Drapee and Dirt Drapee, for dancing girls or hard workers.

Each set of silks comes with a hud allowing you to choose different colours for the chain parts, and for the Beaute silks, different levels of sheerness. The Dirt silks come with three different shades included, while the Beaute packs include a solid colour and an ombre.

The Dirt silks come with shackles, while the Beauty silks come with jewelry, including an ornate circlet. (There's a simpler version of it with the Dirt silks.)

Seems like it's been a while since I did a non-event post, so here's a look at a recent release from Delicious (before I get back to events, lol).

Faridah is a recent release from Delicious and you have three ways to wear the outfit - as a camisk or tunic, as dancing silks, or as, um, casual silks?

The outfit is a mix of mesh (the tunic, the short silks) and flexi silks, prims, and clothing layers.

I really like that the belt is available separately - ie without attached silks - perfect for adding to other outfits!

Hunt at the Shack - free stuff!

Shack are participating in the Femdom Hunt, and their hunt prize contains lots for anyone roleplaying as a slave girl. In the box you'll find a set of dancing silks, a pretty camisk, and a work tunic. Also - not shown here - are a box of 'Whipped' tattoos, if you've been punished recently. Ouch.

A quick word about the hair - I do love a fabulous swishy ponytail style - which is from Mina and available now (discounted!) at We Love Role-Play. This round will be open until the end of the month, when it closes for a few days before re-opening at 3pm SLT on 4th November.

If you want to take advantage of the sale at Soedara, better hurry, because it only runs through tomorrow (Monday 26 August).

Once you tp over to Soedara, you'll see that many of the outfits (not the very newest releases) have a colour option rezzed on the floor in front of the main vendor. This is the sale item, reduced in price by 30,40 or 50%.

Free alt finds treasure in the Elvenbreath attic

Free alt has been out and about again, shopping with 0L, hunting and rummaging through box rooms all over the grid.

The outfit ("Robani") is just one of several tucked away in the attic at Elvenbreath, in boxes labelled gifts for newbies. The good news is anyone can take them though, no avatar creation date seems to apply.

Love Donna Flora

Two quick photos showing a few things I picked up at the Love Donna Flora event, which opened on 25 July and will run to 11 August. I'm pleased to report the event was so busy the first few days after opening, I couldn't even get in to the sim!

As you've probably heard, the event is being held to raise funds for much-loved designer Squinternet Larnia, who is gravely ill.

I haven't blogged 30L Saturday in a while, but there were so many cute outfits on today's list that I couldn't resist.

(And because it's summer, I ended up in a wintry skybox on the Humanoid sim. Go figure.)

Most of the outfits have multiple ways to wear them, so they're insane value for 30L.

I don't have too many yellow items in my inventory, and definitely very few in this brazen shade!

Luckily I discovered this silk - this very skimpy silk - from D&T designs in my inventory. They used to feature in the weekend sales a lot, and I'd imagine that is where I picked it.

Triumph of Ariadne reworked

Photographing remains a slow process, due to working around the crashes, so I'm not going to show you *all* the looks possible with Soedara's revamped Triumph of Ariadne silks. 

Although even on a good day, that would be quite a task as the box is full of pieces to play with!

The original outfit was released almost two years ago and it's been thoroughly reworked, now combining unrigged mesh, sculpted prims, flexi parts, and a texture-changing hud for the jewels. (I really like when designers mix up materials - mesh is great, but on its own, it can be a little dull.)

And to bring it fully up to date, there's an applier for your Lola Tangos too.

Retirement sale at Soedara

I'm a jinx! I included this outfit in Wednesday's crayon colour challenge post, and now it's being retired!

Soedara's City Girl - Chains and Stones outfit has been reduced to 100L (originally 499L) so don't miss this last chance to stock up. Once the sale is over, the outfit will be replaced by a new, re-invented style, and the original will no longer be available.

Yes, it's a pretty racy outfit (so if avatar nudity scares you, look away now) but of course you can layer it up and wear over a more modest base outfit.

I lucked out with this week's post; the very first outfit I turned out was a great match for colour :) Of course, I had to then to try on several more outfits which were all discarded.  (More about the colour challenge over on Softpaw's blog.)

The base outfit is Shack -  Opal Delight Silks in Lagoon, but instead of wearing the jewelry that comes with the silk, I opted instead to wear the very first outfit I ever bought from Soedara almost two years ago.

Back to normal, and back on schedule after Fantasy Faire (although there is still some hunting to be done!) This week's colour challenge is another one where my careful matching in-world doesn't seem to have come out quite so exactly on the blog page. No idea why that should be.... Nevermind!

This week's outfit is from Jessenia Delicious, and the accessories are from Soedara. Anklet and bracelets are from an Earendil silks set, but the necklace is one of the separately sold Earendil necklaces. (You do get a necklace with the silks, but the ones sold separately have an additional texture change feature).

New from Soedara - Romea mesh silks

TGI almost Friday... I'm exhausted! With that in mind, I'm just going to very quickly tell you about this recent mesh release from Soedara.

Romea is a set of mesh silks especially suited for those roleplaying in ancient Greece and Rome, and it comes in high and low caste variants. (There's also a sister set, not photographed here, called 'Of the Plains' which is more Gorean and features lots of earthy colours and different accessories.)
