I think it's snowing

I recently stopped by Creation.jp and left with a considerably lightened wallet as there were so many cute things.

This vest or shrug from Gizza was designed as a contemporary item, but inspired me to put together a wintry look for a slave or panther.

Fortunately, snow in SL isn't all that cold, so you can run around with bare chest, tummy and thighs, even if you do inspire shivers in onlookers. Otherwise, you could always just layer it over some warmer clothes.

Also at Creation.jp are some fabulous new windblown hairstyles from Tableau Vivant. This is Harukaze which includes both male and female sizes. The other is Breeze, which you can buy for either male or female avatars.

The socks are actually from last year's Frost fair, by Lapointe & Bastchild. They come with a colourchange hud which allows you to turn the pompoms off, but I just had to leave them on...

Winter snug

This yummy coat is the current  We Love Role-Play offering from May's Soul.

Frankly, this coat looks so unbelievably snug that I wish had one RL! However, at least in SL, no fluffy animals were harmed to make this coat, which makes it easier for the vegetarians amongst us.

The mittens are a free gift under the tree at the event - just join the update group and help yourself to some awesome goodies.

I'm also wearing my trusty Arachzis horns from The.Plastik and Dyisi boots from Evie's Closet. Neither are new releases, but they're both items I turn to again and again. Does that make them classic?!

Soedara at We Love Role-Play

Round 11 of  We <3 RP opens on Friday. Soedara have put out two new outfits, each at 30% off. The Scurvy Wench is a pirate-inspired ensemble, featuring a corseted dress, shrug, armwarmers and jewelry. Meanwhile, Berhawa-nafsu is a skimpy mesh camisk.

Both outfits have lots of options for you to play with; some are hud controlled, and some are additional options included in the pack. For instance, with scurvy wench, the hud lets you change the colours of the corset and the flowers. There are also two colours of the shrug, and an alternative dress has different colours in the skirt. The Berhawa-nafsu huds let you change the opacity of the camisk, the colour of the fabric, or the colours of the beads.

The boots I'm wearing alongside Scurvy Wench are from Kahli Designs, and are part of the Elven Courtier outfit. The sandals I'm wearing with the camisk are add-ons for Slink flat feet from Maxi Gossamer, at this month's Fameshed.

We Love Role-Play opens tomorrow

After a month-long break, We <3 Role-Play returns tomorrow at a new location (so bin your old landmarks!).  The event opens at 3pm SLT.

Just two of the items you'll find there are the Sister Crow necklace and headdress from Paper Moon's Sisters of the Wood series. The necklaces are new additions to the series are have an introductory 25% off for the event.

The outfit I'm wearing is from Soedara - a panther or bondmaid outfit called Journey of Dagveig. It comes in four colours, and each colour somes with with different variations - leather, fur, mixed textures, and stud top. There's also a hud which allows you to change the textures of the belt leather, buckles and studs.

Northern girl... or Southern?

Rushing to get this post done, as Glam Affair have a special 'cold day' edition of the Kaelyn skin out for Fifty Linden Friday (yes, that's right, it's today only).

The skin features a wind-burned look with rosy cheeks and nose - the very picture of a girl in the harsh northern climates. Or, has our girl been out under the hot southern sun for too long? Is that sunburn and freckles we see?

Soedara's new outfit, Lucretia, is a partial mesh outfit which could be worn by northern or southern girls. It's kirtle-inspired with a plunging neck, and features some Norse style decoration.

Add some extra layers and boots and you're ready to take on winter as you go about your chores. Alternatively, omit the layers and wear the outfit with the included jewelry to project the image of a high southern slave.

We Love Role-Play: Soedara and Bite & Claw

It's almost that time of the month again - time for a new round of We <3 Role-Play! As usual, the event will open on the 4th of November, and you can choose from dozens of items from your favourite fantasy and roleplay creators, all at 25-50% off.

Bite & Claw's Elora skin comes in four tones. This is Lunar, and its the most 'human', the other tones are more fantastical. I especially love the three facial tattoos with the skin - featured in photos after the jump.  They're hugely expressive too - the black tattoo is really quite scary, while one of the red ones looks almost sad. You can seem them in photos after the jump. Also in the box are matching feet and elf ears!

The latest release from Soedara is a fun wintry outfit that's jam-packed full of wearing options. (For your lindens you get three skirt options, two mesh tops, and even a choice of armbands.)

The outfit is intended for bonds but the many different elements could be co-opted into outfits for other roleplayers.

Free silks & more at Arachne Silks

Arachne Silks recently put out three Midnight Mania boards, featuring a variety of silks, camisks, kirtles and chalwars... and they're really easy to lock, as they're only /10!

The downside to this is that depending on where you live, you might need to stay up late or get up early to get there before the board is already locked...

Pictured below are a few of the prizes from the boards. They change up quite frequently, so you might actually see some completely different outfits up on the boards. Most of them offer different wearing possibilities too, and plenty of opportunities for mixing and matching.

May's Soul have a cute lil' mesh camisk with accompanying silky skirt on offer at the Fall Fete, so you can decide how you want to wear it. The silks are great for modesty though, and the flowered belt is dreamy.

Solange! and Kyoot at Zodiac

A new Second Life shopping event called Zodiac has just launched - and there's no prizes for guessing that it's themed around the astrological star signs. This month, Leo is the sign of the collection. While the event isn't specifically aimed at roleplayers, there are some great pieces there you might like to look at.

Star of the show for RP types might be the Leona outfit from Solange! which would work for panther or slave. You can choose to make it PG or not... the not is after the jump :)

 The bustiers from Kyoot could be a nice wardrobe addition for bonds or free women- they're on multiple clothing layers so you can make sure you're covered (or not).

... and everything is 200L or under. Yay!

Soedara's Saman din Zori (meaning: Shaman of the Sun) outfit is maybe her most versatile yet.

It comes in earthy and 'exotic' tones, and could be worn by sweet submissives, hard-working girls, or raggle-taggle gypsies. The leather textured options are perfect for panthers, amazons or huntresses. It also has a mystic edge (reflected in the name), rendering it suitable for wood elves, witches and wiccans, nature spirits, and wild girls of all sorts.

The character I imagined for the photos is a kind of forest guardian - an Artemis without a bow.

Beltane Festival - Hunt prizes

Hurrah! Another 30L Saturday festival, combining two of my favourite fashion passions - sale shopping and hunting.

This fest is to celebrate the spring festival of May Day or Beltane... Well, it beats dancing naked round a bonfire, leastways in the Celtic weather we've got outside here.

This hunt is also perfect for everyone who operates on a zero-Linden economy in Second Life as all the prizes are free.

As always, I'm only featuring the wearable prizes here, and there are some bits and pieces I haven't photographed this time out. There are lots more prizes to pick up!

Some designers have left the hint in a hunt object at the Beltane sim, and you can find the prize back at their mainstore. Others have gone above and beyond, and put out two prizes, one at Beltane and one at their mainstore.
