Double trouble

This is my first attempt at a double avatar photo, using some of the tips in this tutorial.  I might try this technique again, it's quite useful for showing off a lot of stuff at once.  Editing the images together is super easy, but I did have to mess around quite a bit in-world.

Anyway, what I'm showing off in this post is my Black Friday haul from The.Plastik,The sale runsuntil 23.59 on Monday, so if you have any linden dollars left, do not miss it.  There's between 30% and 50% off almost all the clothes and accessories, so stock up. Fatpack prices have also been slashed

Also, please note that today is the last day of this round of Enchantment - which also means its the very last day you'll ever be able to get your hands on any of the exclusive prizes.

Desert dancer

So, I'm back! It seems like there's been an insane amount of stuff happening event-wise these days. Unfortunately, my SL is very laggy (is it the ridiculous inventory I'm dragging around?) so exploring is not so much fun.

Anyway, less complaining, more fashion.

Vurdah of the Desert is a recent release from Soedara, and it's funky mesh top and harem pants combo. a You get three versions of the top; in these photos, I'm wearing the slightly-sheer version. Also included are the belt, anklets, bangles, upperarm bands, face chain and diamond bindi.

(PSSST, the gold colour of the outfit is 160L, almost half price, on the marketplace as a promotion. I don't know how long this will last.)

More events!

A super quick post, just to highlight some ongoing events.

The chainmail vest I'm wearing is from The Forge,  at Tales of Fantasy. Be quick though, this round closes on 29 August.

Likewise, you have only a couple of days to shop Enchantment. I love this eye makeup from Tarnished.

Fantasy Gacha Carnival, where you'll find the dress, belt and cuffs from May's Soul, runs until 8 September.

Collabor88 is celebrating its third anniversary, which means even more goodies than usual. I spent all my lindens there, as the theme is Odyssey... meaning lots of classically-inspired items for Greek goddesses, including this hair from Lamb.

The victrix

Just a quick reminder that you have only a couple of days left before the July round of We Love Role-Play closes (the August round opens on the 6th, a couple of days later than usual). That's where you'll find this original mesh, clasically-inspired gown from Luminary.

Continuing the classical theme is the Christine hair from Lelutka which debuted at Hair Fair. The Trojan Necklace and Gypsy Bracers are both from The Forge. The necklace is strictly limited to 200 in quantity at Project Limited which opened on 20 July. The bracers first appeared at the Countdown Room but will probably reappear at the Forge mainstore before too long.

By the way, if you happened to glance at my profile, I mentioned that I'm travelling a lot at the moment, so not really blogging. I just happened to have a few days at home and managed to squeeze in a couple of posts. (Not fibbing about not blogging!). I might be able to squeeze in another post before the weekend, if not, see you in September or October... Inshallah!

The wandering stars, the wandering June

So I finally got a chance to log in (busy RL, SL not cooperating) and head over to Collabor88. This month's theme is nautical, and there are logs of fun things to pick up. Not least among them are this cool hair from Clawtooth (optional starfish attachment not shown) and top from Milk Motion.

Next on my list to check out is (Tales of Fantasy gacha event) where you'll find these horns from The Forge. The necklace is from Luminary and you'll find it at the upcoming round of Genre, which opens on June 15.

We Love Role-Play is still going strong, with everything discounted between 25 and 50%, including these pants from Paper Moon and the gorgeous bag from The Library.

Natsumi

Natsumi Girl is a new release from  Soedara, it's an Asian-styled 'dress' so perfect for Pani roleplay sims. The outfit includes five sizes of mesh, bracelets, and a hair flower. It's also a bargainous 150L.

I haven't tried layering it yet, I suspect it might work well as a tunic over trousers, but it looks like it might be a little too fitted for skirts and gowns.

Also, if you're not as out of the loop as I am, you probably already know that Aisling (or a i s l i n g) are celebrating their first anniversary. They've very generously put out a special collection of gifts, which includes this circlet and necklace set for women. (There's also a necklace for men, and a variety of decor items.)

This slurl should take you right there - Aisling anniversary gift - but if you do land at the main entrance, look for the special glowing teleportal! I'm not sure how long gifts will be out for, but at least one is a limited edition and the countdown clock reads 19 days.

Earrings (by Distorted Dreams) and Face jewels (from The Forge) are both available at We Love Role-Play while my foot jewels (Pure Poison) and fan are from Fantasy Gacha Carnival
Both events run until the end of the month.

Travelling girl

More from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, which runs until the end of the month.

Again, the hair is Penelope from Calico, and if it looks familiar, it's because it's a variation on the Penny style which was released last winter. You have all the same colour-change options for tweaking the bandana and the beads, so you can get all matchy-matchy with your outfit.

Jewelry is from Frogstar's Marauder collection. I modifed the arm wrap a little, turning it from a wrist bangle to an upper armband. The chains around my wrists come from Haste, while the belt back is from Pucca Firecaster, and the thigh dagger is from The Forge. (I also tweaked the positioning of this slightly, turning the dagger from the front to the side.)

The top is one of the leather tunics from Aphorism. The rares from this machine come with an 'Arrow Attack' hud - activate it to see an arrow appear in your shoulder as you collapse to the ground, writhing with pain.

Boots and skinny pants both come from the The.Plastik. Both are actually from previous Fifty Linden Friday/ Lazy Sunday outfit packs... and why is this relevant? Because there are more fabulous goodies from Vae in this round of FLF, in the shape of another outfit pack and a fantasy skin. I haven't been there yet (and probably won't have time to blog them), but I can promise you I am going there right now!

"Is there anybody there?"

A new round of Enchantment opens on 1 May with the theme of Sleeping Beauty. Augurer of Luminary has created the Beatrice outfit especially for it. Inspired by sleep, the outfit represents a nightgown and robe. There's nothing to stop you wearing it during the daytime however.

The format of Enchantment is very different this time around; the releases are not to be found at an event location, but in the designers' mainstores. (Be honest - with all the events nowadays, when was the last time you went shopping in SL stores?)

To encourage you to make the trip around all the stores, there's a very special incentive in place - exclusive prizes, which will never be available again. You just need to get your card stamped; and everything is explained after the jump.

Desert Dream

Back to my roots... silks! The Desert Dream silks are a colourful recent release from Second Moon. It's a traditional set of dancing silks - no mesh, lots of mobile flexis. There are lots of different ways to wear it, and you can mix-and-match with the other desert ranges.

The collar is from The Forge, at  We Love Role-Play. You have until the end of the month to buy it there at a discount before the venue shuts down to prepare for the new round on 4 April.

Beloved nymph, princess of rivers

It's the mermaid round of Genre, but this outfit from The Library would be perfect for kajirae or fae who like wearing silks. It's a mesh outfit, in two pieces - a skirt in the usual five sizes, and a collection of bead necklaces. At 200L it's slightly more expensive than most Genre offerings, but it's still a good price for a really nice outfit.

I grabbed quite a few things at this round, including an outfit from Sweet Lies and a circlet from On a Lark, plus the gift box that Curious Kitties put out.

Damsel du Sanct Grael

Ouch, RL suddenly got very busy, hence the slow down in posting. In spite of this, I finally manged to get into the February round of Collabor88, where I bought the base skin from Glam Affair (388L), together with the add-on packs for nose and cheeks (188L each).

I paused at the lip packs though. The accompanying lipsticks look absolutely beautiful, but  thought they were a little pricey at 288L. However,  I'll probably go back and get a pack when the weekly stipend comes through on Tuesday.

In the meantime, I added a liptint from Musa at We <3 Role-Play to add a little more oomph to the look. These liptints add a sheer and subtle hint of colour without altering the shape of your lips and look very natural.

In fact, apart from the skin, almost everything I'm wearing comes from We <3 Role-Play. (which of course means its discounted between 25% and 50% for the event). The gown is Adele's Secret from Junbug, and the chalice I'm holding is from The Forge.

New from The.Plastik at Frost and TDRF

I've been having more issues with taking photos in the last few days - sometimes the image comes out completely scrambled, sometimes almost completely black with just a few meshes showing, or sometimes there'll be a transparent space where my arms, head, or entire body should be.

This could be cool if I wanted to make a surrealist art statement, but as I just want to grab a few nice pics featuring fun clothes 'n' things, it's VERY frustrating. In between times, I did manage to squeeze out some pics with intact and visible body parts, so phew. Next will be final post in the crayon colour challenge, I hope...

This post, I'm slinking around in the corset-y Karmiel mesh bodysuit from The.Plastik, which makes a great alternative camisk. It's currently at The.Plastik's booth at the F R O S T fair which runs until 5 January. You'll find the Slink nail appliers I used (close-up of just one of the options after the jump), and lots of special limited editions of recent releases like the Morgana gowns or Furia dresses.

You might also want to check out the two gift trees at Frost, under which you'll find freebies and dollarbies from the fair participants.

Lady Leather - new from Junbug!

New from Junbug is the Lady Leather outfit. It's an original mesh tunic with mesh skirt add-ons - so you can be a lady by day and a huntress by night (or vice versa).

It makes me think of the old black and white film The Wicked Lady, featuring a 17th century beauty who gets up to all sorts of naughtiness as a highway-woman.

Sun on snow

So many events, so little time!

The gown is from the current round of  at The Dressing Room Fusion but if you like it, better hurry, as there are only a few days left before the round changes over. It's from Glow Studio and available in three different colours, only 70L each.

The parasol starring in these pictures is from Okami at  We Love Role-Play, while the hair is from Mina at the same event. The rings and necklace are from The Forge at the fabulous Jewelry and Accessory Expo, and the nails are part of The Plastik's newest releases exclusively at Frost.

Brown eyes

I don't often do posts like this - with lots of layering - because it makes me feel like a cheap imitation of other, better bloggers!

However, at the risk of being accuse of copycatting (almost as bad as copybotting), I wanted to show you what Peqe's Elven outfit looks like when you're not running around half-naked. As you can see, it makes a nice over-tunic.

Also at The Fantasy Collective is the Eldar Armour from The Forge - I've used just part of it here, on shoulders and upper arms. The bow and quiver are from Pucca Firecaster Creations, at We Love Role-Play.

The Fantasy Collective: Geek and ieQED

The Fantasy Collective is open NOW to update group members - it's free to join, so if you'd like to get in ahead of tomorrow's official opening, sign up! If you'd like to see some of the items on offer before you head over, you can check this round's catalogue on the official blog.

Here's a look at another couple of items from the event - first up, the 'Fail' outfit from Geek, which is perfect for panthers or low slaves. It comes in a range of colours - brown in the first pic, and peach after the jump. The outfit includes a mesh top and skirt (with optional bow) and a twig belt. There's also some tattoo layer warpaint (not shown here).

The twig crown and necklace from ieQED (formerly Handverk) come in two variations - with or without the red berries.

The skin is the almost the same as my last post - I used a different makeup from The Skinnery's Bella line (also at the event). This time it's Spring/Summer Fairy in the slightly darker toffee tone.

Not at the event, but still fabulous, are the wonderful Mantha hair from Calico and the Ailida bangles from The Forge.

Take back the life that they stole

With a heart that always fails
My love's gone off all the rails
Like a ship without a sail
Sinking underneath the wave

It's sleepy time, so, very quickly - the Persephone mesh tank top and jacket combo are a new release from The.Plastik and it looks like a really useful wardrobe addition. Trying the jacket as modesty cover-up with some gowns is on my to-do list for sure.

The scary shoulder-pads are from We<3RP, and they come from ieQED, formerly known as Handwerk.

Also featured in the pictures - the new Elven shield and not-so-new Izo katana from EZ Weaponry, and the perennially popular Boadicea's Bracelets and Boadicea's Belt from The Forge.

Oh and I can't forget the boots! They're at C88 and I have a pair almost completely like them in RL so I couldn't resist. They're from Beetlebones and a complete steal at 88L.

As always, more pics after the jump!

Guardian of the mysteries

Evie's creations just keep on getting better and better.

Her latest outfit has just launched with a special (discounted!) edition at We Love Role-Play and more colours will be available soon at the Evie's Closet mainstore.

It's named for Ceridwen, considered the goddess of poetic inspiration, transformation, and rebirth. In Welsh legend, she was an enchantress who chased her servant Gwion through various incarnations, before devouring him as a hen while he was in the shape of a grain of corn. In due birth, she gave birth to his reincarnated form, Taleisin, who would become a great bard.

Mother of Pterodactyls

Dragons? So last season.

The shoulder pet to have now is a baby pterodactyl, as all the fantastical fashionistas know.

The Mieville Midway fair and gacha festival, featuring steampunk, goth, and alternative designers opens at noon SLT on Tuesday October 15th, and the cute Pteri shoulder pet from Unrepentant is just one of the gacha prizes you can play for.

More gacha insanity

Really quick post tonight, it's almost sleepy-time... Another couple of options from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, this time an earthily glamorous gown from Black Pearl (only 75L per play!) and some grungily decorative shoulder armour from May's Soul.

I did make some time to very quickly pop over to the mainstream OMGacha event, where I didn't find much... except these masks, from Things. Must have... must have... the THINGS....
