GU Summer Meltdown Hunt - Gem Designs

Another couple of outfits from the Gorean University Summer Meltdown Hunt... this time it's Gem Designs, and yup, there's one prize at the market, and another at the mainstore.

Beltane Festival - Hunt prizes

Hurrah! Another 30L Saturday festival, combining two of my favourite fashion passions - sale shopping and hunting.

This fest is to celebrate the spring festival of May Day or Beltane... Well, it beats dancing naked round a bonfire, leastways in the Celtic weather we've got outside here.

This hunt is also perfect for everyone who operates on a zero-Linden economy in Second Life as all the prizes are free.

As always, I'm only featuring the wearable prizes here, and there are some bits and pieces I haven't photographed this time out. There are lots more prizes to pick up!

Some designers have left the hint in a hunt object at the Beltane sim, and you can find the prize back at their mainstore. Others have gone above and beyond, and put out two prizes, one at Beltane and one at their mainstore.

A Time for Light Treasure Hunt

This hunt is a little bit more expensive that the ones I usually feature, but for a very good reason - all the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society as it's part of the Relay for Life series.

So all the prizes are 10L rather than the usual freebie or dollarbies. 

The hunt is sponsored by the Goreans in the Relay for Life group

There are 25 Gorean stores participating in the hunt, although all prizes were out this morning. Check the official hunt blog for updates.

Luckily I managed to grab a couple of prizes at Gem Designs.

At the back of the store, there's a discount area, with a Midnight Mania and Lucky Chair as well as some cut price outfits.

However, the prize at Gem Designs wasn't too hard to find, so naturally I grabbed it when I saw it.

Beauty & The Beast - Gorean grid wide hunt

Hunting is definitely one of Second Life's most fun pastimes.. it's like shopping with extra mental stimulation! Plus, the prizes are usually free or 1L.

There so many hunts on these days, it's impossible to do them all (unless you're very dedicated and have a lot of free time).

So while I dip in and out of most hunts, the Beauty and The Beast hunt is definitely one I'll be following from start to finish.

So far, I'm about half-way and there are tons of great prizes! Standouts so far? For me, it's got to be the 'Beauty' gown from Pekas, the whole box of goodies from Shack, the panther accessories from Bina, and these purple silks from Tamiron Forge.

Plus, the skin in all these pics is the prize from Severed Heart. Isn't it gorgeous?!

Free stuff - Broken Heart Fair hunt prizes

The Broken Heart fair - presented by the lovely folks who bring you 30L Saturday each week - opened yesterday, showcasing some of SL's very talented Gorean and fantasy designers.

The event runs until 14 February, and there are simply tons of 30L bargains.

One of the fun things about these events is there's often a mini-hunt, as is the case here. There are some wonderful prizes to be picked up on sim, and in some cases, back at the designer's mainstore.

I haven't taken pics of the various furniture and roleplay items you can find, but there's plenty of them.

And the range and quality of the clothing prizes is very exciting, so a big thank you to all the generous designers participating!

Going to kick off with one of my personal favourites, the 'Broken' camisk from Gem Designs. I love the fresh colours, and how you could wear it with a pair of jeans for an edgy contemporary style.

(Look out for Wrapped in White from On a Lark also, it's another personal favourite.... oh and the hair featured throughout is also a hunt prize!)

Okay if you haven't been down to Midwninter Fair yet, it's almost your last chance! It closes officially on 31 December. You have been warned...

If you haven't been to Midwinter Fair yet, I suggest you dash down there as quick as you can!

Not only are there the usual 30L offers for the duration of the Fair, but there's a mini-hunt on the sim. Some designers also have a second prize back at their mainstore.

There are some great outfits to be found - my favourites are below - and also odds and ends like furniture, seasonal gifties, and even an intriguing musical instrument from Silk Worms!

Free silks - Christmas gift from Gem Designs

Thanks to Gem Designs, who've left out no less than three colourways of the 'New Flower' silks as a Christmas gift.

The jewel-tone silks (gold, green and purple) each come with long and short skirt options. Otherwise they're fairly simple and straightforward - but awfully pretty!
