FF2014: The Woodlander

A woodland look today, gleaned from Fantasy Faire's offerings.

The outfit is a combination of items from Fantavatar & Moonstruck and Poet's Heart; with a necklace from House of Rain, tatoo from LaNoir Soleil Designs, and staff poses from Hopscotch. (Yay for staff poses! They are much needed.) The hair, meanwhile, is just one of the great new styles Wasabi Pills have out.

FF2014: The Unseelie Queen

The Queen of the Unseelie Court has gone a-wandering in the gloom. Though richly robed and fair of face, her desires are as dark and twisted as the thorn trees in the shadowy thicket.

Fantasy Faire  2014 is now open! There are nine beautiful sims to explore, as you shop for a good cause - the American Cancer Society. You can read a little of the background here on the Fantasy Faire blog. Click on each sim title link for a list of stores and a map

My dark fae look comes courtesy of Aisling (the amazing headdress and collar), Evie's Closet (gown) and Folly (rainbow sheen and leaf tattoos). Eyes and hair are from Musa and Wasabi Pills respectively, and they're also at the Faire.

CNY Fest, celebrating the Chinese New Year, opens on January 31st. (It's the Year of the Horse, and from what I've seen of predictions so far, a lot of people will have a good year, and others will have a mixed year. I don't think I saw any disasters promised for anyone, thankfully.)

The event is brought to you by the people behind the Water Lantern Festival, so you know what that means - an eclectic shopping experience on a beautiful sim.

Participating designers include Junbug, Half-Deer, Xiaj, Posesion, C'est La Vie!, FAUN, and lots more, with a mix of regular stores and gachas.

The last time

Another couple of sneak peeks from Fantasy Gacha Carnival! The grey sleeves are one of the 'epic' or ultra-rare prizes from Stitched Gods's combat sleeves - a set of arm warmers for females. The staffs are from Cubic-Cherry Kreations. Each colour comes in three variations - hold in left hand or right hand, and wear on back.

The staffs, and the rares and ultra-rares of the sleeves, are materials-ready,  so if you have one of the latest viewers (latest version of the official viewer or the Firestorm Beta), turn on your advanced lighting mode to see the full effect.

The rest of my outfit is not from FGC, but includes some recent releases from The.Plastik - the Rhea belt (I love this, might have to get some more colours), Camael horns, and Morgana gown. Full credits at the end.

Soedara's Saga of Valkyrja

Some photos of Soedara's Saga of Valkyrja chastity belt - silks outfit. I have to say, it's a total steal of an oufit, as you basically get the equivalent of a fatpack for 450L!

At the moment, there are two sets of the outfit, both with gold metal. Set 1 includes the silk colours creamy, pink, white, lilac, blue, apple, red, and yellow. Set 2 has peach, soft pink, silvery, mint, icy, lavender, and black.

Fantasy Faire has been extended for one day, so you have additional 24 hours to go shopping and sight-seeing on the beautiful sims. Anyway; less talking and more photos from me, I have a bunch of outfits to show you that I didn't already get to!

I'm going to try to use extra time to take some photos of the amazing sims tomorrow. Anyway, get down to the Faire - now open till April 29!

Now I know the truth

I caught the amazing video for Ellie Goulding's 'Anything Can Happen' recently (I know, I know, I'm so out of the loop). She wears two looks in the video, one of them being a fantastical, grecian draped gown.

I don't know if it would be possible to create a close approximation of this look as there's lots of volume and fluid draping, but it was so beautiful and inspirational, I thought I'd have a go at interpreting it, just for fun.

The Waiting Hand: Secret sale at Arachne silks

Arachne Silks are marking the end of 2012 with a five day secret sale called 'The Waiting Hand' after the Gorean term for the last days before the new year dawns with the vernal equinox.

Each of the final five days before the end of year will be marked with a new outfit reduced to a practically free 5L. Four outfits are reduced now, and another will be added tomorrow. Unfortunately, you will have to check over a lot of outfits to find which is on sale! The three pictures below might help you, and the outfit added today is in the camisks section (to the left as you enter the store).

Hunting for bargains on Black Friday weekend

Not so many posts lately... I've been busy RL, and hunting down bargains in SL!

The Seraphim blog has a great guide to Black Friday sales in Second Life, many of which continue through today. You might be especially interested in sales at the Plastik (all clothes except the very newest releases are half-price, most clothing fatpacks 500L, and a board of skins etc for 99L at the landing point), Solange (everything half price), Wishbox (selected lines reduced 30-50%), and The White Armory (outlet gowns down to 100L).

25L Fall Fete preview: Delicious

One of the things I love about Delicious is how many different combinations you can create from their outfits - I haven't shown you half of them here.

For instance, Free Woman gown Francesca comes with three different skirts (plus matching belts), you can wear it with blouse or jacket top, and then there are the accessories - prim jacket fastening, hat, veil, shawl... I've probably left lots out there too!

The cute slave outfit Verso is their 25L outfit, and it, too, can be worn with lots of variations. I've show you two below, but it can also be worn as a full-bodied camisk (ie covers the whole torso).

Delicious will also be showcasing their brand new skin line at the event, so be sure to check that out. In fact, if you're a group member you can tp across to the Delicious skin store and pick up your group gift skin (pictured here).

The Angel of Justice

The concept of justice (and the question of where justice ends, and vengeance begins) has been on my mind these past few days, which led to me blogging something a little different today.

It happens that today is Michealmas Day, the feast of St Michael and the Archangels, so I offer you a portrait of the Angel of Justice, and a prayer for all who have suffered from the wrongdoing of others.

Massive marketplace sale at Nomine

Nomine, the fantasy and gothic store (or as creator Munchflower Zaius describes it "darkness, haute couture, and bohemian inspired aesthetics", which sounds much nicer) is having an enormous sale.

Just about everything (well over 2,000 items) for male and female avatars has been reduced to 100L. Demos are the exception, they're free!

There's an insane breadth to the range, so what's on offer inclues hair, skins (all kinds - human, fae, drow, doll, mermaid, android, neko, deer, panda, reptile, zombie), make-up, and all sorts of clothing including the most recent mesh outfits.

Vintage Fair finds from Vassnia and Rookhold

Now that the crowds (and the lag) have gone, I've been exploring Vintage Fair at my leisure.

The Renaitre (meaning 'reborn') outfit from Vassnia isn't specifically for roleplay, but it suggests a length of silk wrapped and knotted about the body. So if you RPing as a slave girl and want something a little bit different, why not have a look at this? It comes in several colours; as you can see, I went for striking red.

Likewise, the Anthropic Principle jewelry set from Rookhold (formerly Axiom) - the choker necklace resembles a collar... and teams up very well with the dress!

One Voice: Elf Maiden from Wild Style Fashions

If you haven't already been to One Voice to show your support of Curio/Gala Phoenix, now's a great time to go. The rush is over and you're practically guaranteed a lag-free experience! If you have been, it might be worth taking another look, as some late arrivals have joined in, and some merchants have changed over their offerings.

The event continues until 22 July, and I've still got a ton a stuff in my inventory, so I'll shut up and get on with it!

(The hand-held lantern - from LISP - in these pictures has been hacked by the way. You're not meant to wear it but to place it on the ground! However, it's fully mod, so why not play with it...)

One Voice: Antique blossoms from Paris

Pretty in pink? More grungy, rather! Sakide's Letter from Paris outfit comes in four colourways, based on pink or black/grey. I went for pink... and added the delicate Antique Blossoms jewels from Addiction, but that's as far as traditional feminity goes!

Punky hair from Wasabi Pills and a strong skin from Av!sage give an edge to this look. The eyes from Mayfly are stunning - very realistic up close.
