Fantasy Gacha opens tomorrow

Fantasy Gacha Carnival opens tomorrow. It's already been heavily blogged, but I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek today and naturally couldn't resist playing a bunch of times.Today's post shows some items from Junbug and part of the prize from Luas.

Junbug has set out the 'Crush Rose' accessories set, and 'The Queen' complete set which includes common neck ruffs, rare gowns and an ultra-rare parasol. Luas's sets, meanwhile, are slave jewelry - but here I've just added the necklace and armbands to the gown.

In general, there is some fantastic value to be had at the event - at the Library's seven sins gacha for instance, you can get a gorgeous mesh dress plus matching accessory for just 75L. (The rares come with even fancier accessories.) Obviously if you start chasing rares and throwing money at the machines, that's your business!

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 37, Wisteria

When this outfit was first released - I think it was the Pisces round of Zodiac, so back in February/March? - it was blogged everywhere, as it's just so pretty. I didn't blog it then, even though I bought it in all three colours, because so many people had already done a better job than I could.

However, months have now passed, and it turns out that Elodie in shell, from Evie's Closet, is a great match for the colour challenge, yay! It's also a great example of how a designer can blend mesh with other, older tools to really make something special.

I'll admit to recolouring the shell bra which comes with the dress - not because I'm a Cheaty McCheat, rather I thought their original white was a little too much contrast for the dress... Or maybe just because I wanted to make you look at my boobies. So there.

Outfit: Evie's Closet -  Elodie (Shell)
Hair: Red Mint Hair No.15'13 ~ Brown Cocoa
Headband: Exile (comes with Sea of Love hairstyle)
Shape: Self-made
Skin: Curio - Downtown - Petal Frex [Light]-SoHo 1

Back... let's go shopping!

Sooo... I'm back from holidays again. Naturally, one of the first things I did when back in SL was go shopping.

Among the places I hit up were Genre, The Dressing Room Fusion and The Attic.

The theme for this month's Genre is 'Western'. I thought I'd just pop in and have a quick look, but there are so many great items there (all 100L or under) that I spent ages trying on demos. And purchasing.

The 'Native American dress' by La Petite Morte would make a great work tunic, while The Muses have a beautifully modest dress that would be perfect for Gorean free women (add your own veils).

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 36, Cultured Pearl

Cultured Pearl

It took me a long time to figure out exactly how this colour differed from Coconut. Rightly or wrongly, I decided this colour had more grey.

The windlight settings might be pushing the outcome a bit too far towards "mauve" though as this gown from The White Armory (Paladin Crusader) is essentially white, with silver trims.

Outfit: The White Armory - Paladin Crusader Gown Set
Hair:  >TRUTH< Marisol - ivory
Skin: Curio - Chic (Noir 2 - Moonbeam [Dark])
Eyes: Mayfly - Liquid Light Eyes (Desert Dawn Shadow)

Soedara - Parthenope of Rome

Soedara's latest outfit is a classically-inspired cornucopia of options that could see you roleplay your way from humble slave to patrician lady (or vice versa).

The basis of the outfit is a mesh tunic which comes with a variety of trims (gold, silver, leather). There are then eight different flexi skirts you can add to the outfit to transform it from tunic to gown.

We Love Role-Play round 5

We <3 Role-Play opened a few days ago, but due to RL being kind of hectic, I'm a little late with those post!

Anyway, it's another great round of fabulous items at discounted prices.

I just want to point out that there's also a special area for 'cheapies' - and that's where you'll find these silver 'faux elf ears' that I'm wearing. I love them - in fact, I'm almost tempted to go to Etsy and find an RL pair!

Two hunts for roleplayers

Suki's Silken Fashions - Day At The Market Dress - TRH3 prize

September is going to be a super-busy month. As well as We <3 Role-Play - round 5 opens tomorrow - there's The Arcade, if you can get in, and two free hunts. Those are the Medieval Fantasy Hunt X and The Renaissance Hunt 3.

Both blogs have some prize previews, but not everything is shown on them. I've photographed two of the outfits which don't seem to have been included on the previews. (The hair is an MFH hunt prize too, from A&A.)

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 35, Salmon

Oh dear, look how lazy I've been. No posts in almost a week, and back-to-back colour challenges. Tut.

Never mind, this week's colour is pink, and luckily I've lots of that in my inventory. The coat is from The White Armory and the boots come from The Secret Shelf. They're really quite old and probably outmoded in this age of mesh, but I still find them useful. For one thing, NO HUDS. Yay!

You can find all the info about the crayon colour challenge over on Softpaw's blog.
