My familiar

Some more previews from Enchantment, and a cute pet from Fantasy Gacha. Both events open tomorrow. Lots of pictures in this post, as there's a lot to show you!

The beautiful gown is Blanchette from Miamai. It has an elegant 1930s look and feel to it, but the hood at the back lends it a quirky touch. It also pays homage to Little Red Riding Hood, the underlying theme for this round of Enchantment.

The jewelry is from Bokeh, and comes in a variety of colours, including pearl, red, black and green. The ring sets include rings for left and right hands and versions for Slink hands. The necklaces include three different lengths. I really like nice, big chunky jewelry in SL - people can see it without having to cam in!

As with yesterday's post, the poses are from Infiniti. You can see that some of the  dynamic 'Running scared' make the mesh gown look as though it's billowing in the air.

Chinese New Year festival opens tomorrow

Chinese New Year festival opens tomorrow, and even thought it's not open just yet, I've linked with the slurl.

Cashmere & Keane have made a traditional-looking suit, which reminds me of an elegant pair of silk pyjamas. The outfit is one piece (not separate top and bottom), comes in male and female versions, and three different sizes. It's housed inside a little hut at the fair, so be sure and look inside.

The pose is from Posesion, from their 'geisha' set, and in the background, I've set out a variety of the decor items from the event. (I don't usually do decor - so hopefully it's not too much of a hot mess!)

The blackened crown

Only two days to go until Fantasy Gacha Carnival opens - and I haven't even featured everything I'd like to. There really are so many amazing things this round.

The mini-cape is the rare from one of Junbug's gachas, and differs from the commons by having a fur trim. There's a wide range of satin colours among the commons, and three fur textures. Gown is from Peqe, and the leggings from Yasum.

The rings and staff are from On a Lark, and the hand jewels are part of the Aaliyah sets from Luas. Belt and armbands are from Luminary, and finally the crown is from ieQED.

All poses are by Infiniti, and you can get them at Enchantment, which also opens on 1 February. 'The better to see you with' set is made of poses featuring hands close to the face - perfect for showing off jewelry or artful nails!

The static poses of 'Running scared' are very dynamic - I love poses which suggest a sense of movement, and these certainly do that. I've found they can have very interesting effects with mesh gowns (another post to follow!) so try them out, and see what you think...

Whimsical girl

CNY Fest, celebrating the Chinese New Year, opens on January 31st. (It's the Year of the Horse, and from what I've seen of predictions so far, a lot of people will have a good year, and others will have a mixed year. I don't think I saw any disasters promised for anyone, thankfully.)

The event is brought to you by the people behind the Water Lantern Festival, so you know what that means - an eclectic shopping experience on a beautiful sim.

Participating designers include Junbug, Half-Deer, Xiaj, Posesion, C'est La Vie!, FAUN, and lots more, with a mix of regular stores and gachas.

To survive

Lots more goodies from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival which opens in two days time. Armlets, boots and collar are from MeshedUp, the crown is from Distorted Dreams, and the mask from Black Pearls.
The fur outfit is from gO, staff from Stitched Gods, and skirt/belt from Keystone.

If you're impatient, you can grab the ears now at The Fantasy Collective) and there's still time to get to the current round of Collabor88, where you can find this hair from Clawtooth.

Winter is coming

Do you like my direwolf? I promise she won't bite - unless I tell her to.

Strictly speaking, she's not a direwolf, but the 'My Wolf' pose prop from Captivity Co, available exclusively at the Enchantment event which opens on 1 February. Just rez your wolf, sit, and choose

This round is inspired by the story of Little Red Riding Hood, so there are lots of red, black and grey colour schemes, and lots of wolf motifs.

You'll find one such emblem on the flower headdress, which forms one part of Enfant Terrible's offerings. It's available in many different colours - you're going to have a tough time choosing.

Opening on the same day is the Fantasy Gacha Carnival (did you think you were going to have any linden dollars in March? Hah!). I'm wearing a bunch of items from there also, including the Ferala chain necklace from May's Soul and neck-corset from Teriotrope.

Sunday 26 January 2014

From the woods

More great items from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival (just days away now!). I love this staff - it's a rare from Roawenwood, and it includes scripted poses/AO so you can just hold it and stand there all badass or walk along without stabbing yourself with it.

The cosy claw-trimmed fur stole is from Stitched, the sleeves are the Bette gloves from On a Lark, - they're a rare part of the corset set.

Hiding under all my accessories, you can see the new Laena tunic from Soedara. I grabbed the mittens in the League sale, today is the last day so hurry if you want to check it out...

Friday 24 January 2014

New pants from The.Plastik and more from The Fantasy Collective

These mesh pants are new from The.Plastik - they're the Belle jeans. While some of them are traditional five-pocket denim, many aren't. I've borrowed the vendor pic from The.Plastik's blog, and you can see the jeans-y ones have the typical stitching. (For the record, those seem to be Black, Grape, Gunmetal, Vintage and Vivid Blue.)

The ones I'm wearing here are leather - they don't have the jeans styling, but they do have a kind of embossed texture to add interest. For a roleplay look, other colours I'd suggest checking out Blackness, Brocade, Mahogany and Tweedy.

Next time, I am going to try these pants with boots, but for these pictures I'm wearing SYSY's Mary Janes for Slink feet, from The Fantasy Collective. The poses (including sword props) are at the same event (Captivity Co's 'Light Warrior' set) as is the necklace (Distorted Dream's gold Perfumer necklace).

The skin is another from Bite & Claw's gacha at TFC - this time it's Weep, the very cool Ultra-Rare (what I like about this gacha is that the commons are also very desirable, such as the Red skin used in this post).

Thursday 23 January 2014

Tiamat

Brand new from Soedara - the Elysian Tiamat bellydance outfit. As always, the box is stuffed full of goodies. You can choose to wear your outfit with silver or gold trim - clothing layer top, mesh skirt, and prim belly jewel all come with different options to support this.

There are three different styles of bolero jackets and your choice of a sheer or non-sheer veil. Various pieces of jewelry are included too, and the belt and bracelet feature colour change gems.

The poses and props are three common prizes from Infiniti's 'Keeper of the Light' pose gacha at the upcoming Fantasy Gacha Carnival (opening 1 February). These poses are some of the 10 commons, while the special rare prize is a couple pose.

The nail appliers (Slink hands and feet only) are from Wicked Peach, and another item from the Fantasy Gacha. Close up of rare gacha prize Mermaid Scale after the jump.

I was playing with my new Curio skins and was really enchanted by this one - Makeup 2 of Nadia. For a more womanly look (Gala's skins always tend towards the fresh and youthful), I used one of my less conventional shapes and just tweaked the lips and made the eyes a little bit wider. Curio skins - in my opinion - often look good on stronger face shapes. Must experiment with this in the future!

More from TFC and FGC!

The Fantasy Collective has been open for a couple of days now, hopefully you've had a chance to look in.

The good news - this won't be the last round of TFC after all! Another full round will start on February 20th.

The fabulous coat is from Junbug - I just love the belt, nipped-in waist and swagger to the hips.
The red-lipped skin is another Fleur gacha prize (common! yay!) from Bite & Claw.  Remember, this items are exclusive to the event, so if you don't snap them up now, you'll have to wait at least another 3 months before you can do so.

Some more items from Fantasy Gacha Carnival as well - the Fashun Crowns and Staff from Enfant Terrible and the Elbensoul jewelry from Emo-tions. Both creators are making some amazing jewelry and accessories so if you can't bear the wait till 1 February, why not check out the mainstores instead!

Sunday 19 January 2014

The Fantasy Collective opens tomorrow

The Fantasy Collective opens tomorrow, and sadly, this mini-round is the last round ever. The items are exclusive, and won't be available outside the event for 3 months.

I've got a bunch of stuff in this post to show you (and more to follow). First off, the skin is from Bite & Claw, and is the rare 'Bare' option from the Fleur gacha. The skins include matching mesh feet and a shape, and you can buy various appliers at the B&C mainstore if required.

The outfit is from On a Lark, and each pack (natural or jewel tones) comes with a hud giving you three fabric colour options, and four metal texture options. I find it fits really well - I didn't bother wearing the included alpha at all.

As for accessories, Keystone have come up with the beautiful 'Bondmaiden's Headpiece', which comes in gold, silver, or a combination of the two metals. (I've worn Silver and Gold x Silver in these pics.) The necklace is the Tory piece from Distorted Dreams, available in gold or silver. Note - you can click the stone in the centre to choose from nine different textures for it.

So red

More previews from Fantasy Gacha Carnival! Don't worry, it's coming closer...

In these pictures, I've featured a kimono-style tunic and accessories (including hair) from FuubutsuDou, staff from Ginger Line (the sister brand to Velvet Whip), circlet from Keystone, collar from Circe, and eyeshadow from Highlife (you can see it better after the jump!).

Don't forget, if you're a blogger and you'd like early access from 26-31 January, contact Niccii Nitely in-world.

A cry or a least a sigh or a single tear

Bleargh, I've eaten way too much and feel ill. Never mind, these prizes from Fantasy Gacha Carnival (opening 1 February) are guaranteed not to make you gain weight or give you indigestion.

Owing to my over-indulgence, I'm going to skip writing very much. Just quickly - super-customisable horns from Decadent Courtesan; circlet from Keystone, necklace from Zyn, gown from Circe, and corset from Roawenwood. You can also catch a little peek of another set of Slink nail appliers from Wicked Peach!

And now... I should go make some peppermint tea or something :o

Sunday 12 January 2014

More previews from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival

More items from Fantasy Gacha Carnival today - there are going to be so many goodies at this event when it opens on 1 February!

From the top down, my headdress is the ultra-rare version of the Leendah crown from Deluxe Body Factory. The harness and belt are a matching set from Luas, and can also be worn as a set of slave jewelry. (Another gacha from Luas contains matching circlets and hand jewels.)

The gown is Valkyrie, a common from Cellar Door. If you win a rare you'll find yourself with a complementary headdress. Wicked Peach have made nail appliers for Slink hands and feet (you'll need to already own these) in a range of designs. Each pack contains several colours. Finally, the very cool poses are all commons from Rack and include the sword props (saving hours of editing!)

New outfit from Soedara & nail appliers from The.Plastik

Soedara - Belleza Isabella Pattern {Earth Tones}

Soedara  have just release a new mesh outfit - a top and skirt combo called Belleza Isabella. The outfit is a bit of a bargain as each pack contains 3 complimentary tones for only 150L.

You can choose from either the solid leather tones, or the pattern tones which feature a geometric print skirt. Great for mixing and matching, even across the same pack!

Over at the The.Plastik, Aikea has unleashed a veritable deluge of nail appliers for Slink hands and feet. To get an overview, check out the store blog post. Generally, you get 10 options in each pack, and they're grouped by colour or by texture (so for instance you could get a pack of purple shades, or a pack of sparkle tips). Talk about spoiled for choice.

Each pack includes huds for both hands and feet, and I really like that the huds stack on top of each other - so you can wear both at the same time. Photos after the jump.

Curio is back!

I checked Plurk this evening to see someone wearing a brand new Curio demo, so rushed to log in and check it out.

The much anticipated changes (it's been over six months since the older skins were retired) seem more evolution than revolution. The skin tones have been revamped and are warmer in hue. They've also been simplified - there are no longer have light and dark shades of the same tone. The freckled skins have also seem to have been dropped from these releases.

Individual skin packs feature just the default eyebrow colour option for that skin (you'll see it on the vendor), while the megapacks feature four colour options - black, brunette, ginger and blonde. There don't seem to be any appliers yet, but hopefully they will appear before too much longer.

After the jump, I've done a few quick side-by-side comparisons (click on the picture to see the larger version). In each, the new skin is on the left and an older tone equivalent is on the right. I've gone for the palest, a mid-tone, and the darkest. The shots are all raw except for cropping and combining the images. Windlight was Nam's Optimal Skin 2.

We've been pining, and now we want to go home

The fabulous gown in the picture is from Junbug at the current round of Collabor88. For the event, it's priced at only 188L, and it's accompanied by fur wraps and the cutest satin clutch bags, all at great prices. Check. It. Out.

(This round of C88 has some really amazing offers, you're bound to see all the blogs and feeds just stuffed with items. I bought so much there it'd certainly fill out several posts...)

Also, a couple of items from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, which opens on 1 February. The quiver is the rare Elven prize from one of Pucca Firecaster Creations's gachas. The other gacha features a series of roleplay-oriented belts - each has different items attached to suit your role.

The jewelry I'm wearing is Elbensoul  circlet from Emo-Tions, who have two gachas featuring beautiful circlets and necklaces. I really like how Emo-Tions have structured their prize too - the rares come with extra matching earrings. The commons don't have the earrings, but they're all absolutely lovely

By the way, if you're a blogger and you'd like early access to the event, send a notecard title "Early Entry FGC" to Niccii Nitely in-world and she'll make sure you're added.

Monday 6 January 2014

The last time

Another couple of sneak peeks from Fantasy Gacha Carnival! The grey sleeves are one of the 'epic' or ultra-rare prizes from Stitched Gods's combat sleeves - a set of arm warmers for females. The staffs are from Cubic-Cherry Kreations. Each colour comes in three variations - hold in left hand or right hand, and wear on back.

The staffs, and the rares and ultra-rares of the sleeves, are materials-ready,  so if you have one of the latest viewers (latest version of the official viewer or the Firestorm Beta), turn on your advanced lighting mode to see the full effect.

The rest of my outfit is not from FGC, but includes some recent releases from The.Plastik - the Rhea belt (I love this, might have to get some more colours), Camael horns, and Morgana gown. Full credits at the end.

Sunday 5 January 2014

I'd let you win my heart again

Luminary recently sent out the teasers for their offerings at the upcoming Fantasy Gacha Carnival event, which opens on 1 February.

This round is themed 'Winter Wonderland', and Augurer explained that she was inspired by Shakespeare's 'The Winter's Tale', the story of an insanely jealous king who believes his queen to be unfaithful, and so condemns her and their infant daughter. (At the end of the play, both mother and daughter and restored to their rightful positions.) There is a theory that this play was inspired King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, while the princess represents Elizabeth I, Shakespeare's great patroness.

The initial necklace is the common from the gacha and is inspired by famous portrait of Anne Boleyn. You'll probably need to get a few friends together for a swapping party to make sure you get your letter! The crown is the rare item, and there are three different colours if you want to chase them all down.

Friday 3 January 2014

Northern girl... or Southern?

Rushing to get this post done, as Glam Affair have a special 'cold day' edition of the Kaelyn skin out for Fifty Linden Friday (yes, that's right, it's today only).

The skin features a wind-burned look with rosy cheeks and nose - the very picture of a girl in the harsh northern climates. Or, has our girl been out under the hot southern sun for too long? Is that sunburn and freckles we see?

Soedara's new outfit, Lucretia, is a partial mesh outfit which could be worn by northern or southern girls. It's kirtle-inspired with a plunging neck, and features some Norse style decoration.

Add some extra layers and boots and you're ready to take on winter as you go about your chores. Alternatively, omit the layers and wear the outfit with the included jewelry to project the image of a high southern slave.

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 52, Cherry

Cherry

Happy new year!

My first post of 2014 is finishing off last year's Crayon Colour Challenge. Do you believe the superstition that what you do on the first day of the year determines how the rest of the year will go? I hope it's not true, or I might be late for the rest of the year. Oops.

Cherry is a pinky-red colour, and I'm not sure I got it quite right - my outfit doesn't have the right amount of red 'punch' to it. As this is the the last post, I'll let it slide though :)

Aside from the pinky-reds in the outfit (courtesy of The.Plastik and Slave Dressing Room), I'm wearing the Bygone Medusa jewelry from Ellabella (find it at Genre), and another of the new hairstyles from Lelutka. This one is Evilly, and the pack also includes horns and a staff.

(The skin is from Birdy, and I grabbed it at the Wizarding Faire a few months ago, so I'm not sure it's still available.)
