We [heart] Role-Play: Extremely Coy from GSpot

Roleplayers of Second Life, have you got any lindens left after Fantasy Faire? I hope so, because the We <3 Role-Play event opens on May 4, and there is really a stellar list of participants (list after the jump).

The first outfit sent out to bloggers is 'Extremely Coy' from GSpot. I'm really pleased to get the chance to try something from this store as I've seen it featured on other blogs but never gotten round to checking it out myself (bad, lazy blogger!!).

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 17, Manatee

Manatee

Well that wasn't very smart. When I took the photo for week 17, I completely forgot to copy the outfit list... so the credits will be a bit less detailed than usual. And of course this photo is a bit late, due to Fantasy Faire!

I can tell you the outfit is Simplicity in Sky from On a Lark, and I probably picked it up on one of their fabulous 30L Saturday or 25L Tuesday rounds. It's mesh, and the outfit includes mesh gown and cape plus alphas, and a modesty shirt if you want to keep all your skin covered.

The hair is Marisol from Truth, and the skin (can't remember which) is from Curio. Both places have sales on at the moment. Gala Phoenix of Curio will be releasing whole new skin lines soon (hurrah) so her older designs are all half price. This means you can pick up one of her megapacks, containing over 100 skins, for 1000L. Insane, right?! The Curio sale (mainstore only) runs till midnight SLT on May 4.

Fantasy Faire 2013: Skinthesis II !

PETITE PHOTOBOMB! Not quite... I was hanging out on Fantasy Faire sim The Valley of Ish'Nar and spotted The Blogging Elf herself, Ms Arica Storaro, looking gorgeous as ever. I asked if she'd be the token biggie in a photo and she very graciously agreed, so thanks Arica!

In these pics, I'm wearing the Virtue SE (Fair) RFL petite mesh avatar from Skinthesis (when I blogged a couple of the other avs last time out, I realised I hadn't put anything in the pics to indicate the size of the avatars, so I've tried to rectify that this time!).

Fantasy Faire 2013: Last days, lots of outfits!

Staff: Veiled Emporium -.:Snoodle's:. Skull of Ka'Lietre Staff ver. 1.0
Gown: Kouse's Sanctum - Ophelia

Fantasy Faire has been extended for one day, so you have additional 24 hours to go shopping and sight-seeing on the beautiful sims. Anyway; less talking and more photos from me, I have a bunch of outfits to show you that I didn't already get to!

I'm going to try to use extra time to take some photos of the amazing sims tomorrow. Anyway, get down to the Faire - now open till April 29!

Fantasy Faire 2013: Sax Shepherd Designs

Have you been to Fantasy Faire yet? All good things must end, and unfortunately the Faire's too brief existence - for this year - will come to an end on April 28. The Key of Hope hunt continues until May 19; hunt-lovers, don't miss!

Back to the job in hand. In these pics I'm wearing a very skimpy outfit - more a set of body jewelry really - from Sax Shepherd Designs. I blogged one of these outfits was for the One Voice benefit last summer, and it now seems to have taken up permanent residence at the top of my most popular posts.

(The poses btw are the Magical set from Two Cats again.)

Fantasy Faire 2013: Veiled Emporium, Bilo & Analog Dog

Erk! Lots of stuff to cram into this post. As well as some sculptures and artefacts from Veiled Emporium, there are fabulous dresses from Bilo and a new hair from Analog Dog.

First up is the animated dragon sculpture by Nikita Schapire of Veiled Emporium. It's available in a number of colours, and the Sea Dragon variation is the RFL donation item. To turn the animation on or off, simply click the dragon and watch as the dragon clutches it jewels, then rears up from its perch... or not, if you've toggled it off.

Fantasy Faire 2013: Feredir from FATEwear

Another men's outfit to show you today (don't worry ladies, normal service will be resumed shortly). This time it's Fereir, a dashing male elven outfit from FATEwear. (Though it would also be wonderful for a hunter or ranger character.)

It's an exceptionally well crafted and textured piece of mesh, and the ultimate in simplicity as it's an 'all-in-one' outfit; so all you need wear is one piece of mesh and one alpha. In the box, you get two versions of the outfit -  cloaked (shown here) and not.

Fantasy Faire 2013: Skinthesis

ERHMAHGERD never work with children or petites. Such awful little divas. Won't wear this, won't wear that. No, won't pose like that. Turn up late to set (too much violet juice the night before). No, they won't work with other models. Talk to their agent. Call them on their BS and you're a stupid sizeist biggie.

If you have room in your life for a demanding diva who won't get out of her teeny tiny bed for less than 10,000L a day, look no further than Cane Sutter's Skinthesis. At this year's Fantasy Faire, Cane has put out a range of petite mesh avatars and fairy wing accessories (the wings also come in biggie size for the hoomans among you).

Fantasy Faire 2013: Veiled Emporium and The Library

Veiled Emporium is the store for the group of creators based on the beautiful Black Veil sim, and one of their number (Balthasar Constantine) has made the fantastical object which you see in the foreground of this picture (it's not floating, I swear! It is totally resting on the stone...)

The Aether Clouds Artifact Egg is a roleplay accessory which serves as a relic or artefact which will dispense objects... as well as looking pretty darn cool, thanks to the animated fractal art texture.

Fantasy Faire 2013: FATEwear, Lupoaica, Lassitude & Ennui

One of FATEwear's offerings for this year's Fantasy Faire this a mesh elven gown... which might remind you of a certain epic movie trilogy from a few years ago.

From the front, this gown is perfectly demure, but in fact it is dramatically slit up the front, so you will flash some leg as you move around.

Fantasy Faire 2013: New releases from The Plastik

The.Plastik is launching three fabulous new ranges at Fantasy Faire, including the skin and outfit in these photos.

The Valandriel armour has much in common with the Naamah body jewelry outfit, in that once you choose the base colour for your outfit, you  have myriad colour change options, thanks to the huds included with the oufit.

Fantasy Faire 2013 is open! (with free gifts to combat lag)

Fantasy Faire is now open! Get down there and get shopping in aid of Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

Don't forget to be considerate towards others and do yourself a favour in terms of limiting lag. Ditch any huds or scripted items, and deprim as much as possible.

To help you do just that, The,Plastik have put out two fabulous gifts for Fairegoers, with options for male and female. At any of the landing points, you'll find these outfits, consisting of a low-lag skin (all naughty bits covered, no need for additional clothing layers and textures) and a matching mesh hair.

New from Soedara - Romea mesh silks

TGI almost Friday... I'm exhausted! With that in mind, I'm just going to very quickly tell you about this recent mesh release from Soedara.

Romea is a set of mesh silks especially suited for those roleplaying in ancient Greece and Rome, and it comes in high and low caste variants. (There's also a sister set, not photographed here, called 'Of the Plains' which is more Gorean and features lots of earthy colours and different accessories.)

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 16, Sizzling Sunshine

Sizzling Sunshine
Busy, busy, busy, so a quick post. This week's crayon colour challenge is yellow, which is... a lot like green, and therefore not all that easy.

The outfit is new from Shack, but I'm not breaking my self-imposed rule of no new buys for the challenge. I didn't buy it because it was that week's colour, I bought it because it was the new release half-price special at Shack last Friday. So there.

The skin (including matching mesh feet) and make-ups are from Aeva. Go and buy or donate so Amesha can buy a new computer RL and keep making us lovely skins with mesh feet, cos some of us.

Next week is gonna be grey. That can't be hard! Find out more about the challenge on Softpaw's blog.

Fantasy Faire 2013: Yasmin from Luas, Magical poses from Two Cats

Another of Luas's RFL outfits, partial mesh Yasmin comes in a stunningly rich shade of green. I don't usually like green (see half my crayon colour challenge posts), but this beautiful emerald texture is striking and full of impact.

The poses are another RFL item, this time from c(Two Cats).  I love how they write the name btw - it means Two Cats, One Cup - even if the inspiration behind that name is rather less cute XD. DON'T GOOGLE IT. Although possibly you will find nothing under "two cats" so your innocence can remain intact a little longer.

Fantasy Faire 2013: Kelan from Elvenbreath

It's nice to blog male clothing occasionally. If nothing else, you get to walk around with your nipples hanging out and don't have to worry that you're going to kicked off a blog feed or have blogger.com penalise you because omgah you're not PG!

I digress. Meet Kelan, the hot male outfit that Elvenbreath are offering for this year's RFL Fantasy Faire.

Fantasy Faire 2013: Paenya from Elvenbreath

Brand new from Elvenbreath for Fantasy Faire's Relay for Life is this cute and quirky fae outfit called Paenya.

The dress is mesh and fits really nicely, though naturally an alpha layer is included in case of any difficulty. The leaf overskirt meanwhile and dangling blossoms are prim add-ons.

Monday 15 April 2013

Fantasy Faire 2013: Misha from Luas, poses from Musa

Misha is the first item from Fantasy Faire, and it's one of the new Relay for Life offerings from Luas. It's part mesh, featuring a full mesh skirt in five sizes, alpha, clothing layer top, prim shoulder pads, belt and crown, plus a triskel necklace to finish the look off.

The Firebird

This photo is a bit random. I shot it for Softpaw's crayon challenge which will be starring a yellow colour on Wednesday and judged it unsuitable for purpose. It's come out a bit too orange :) I quite like how it turned out, although it does make me wish I had mad photoshop skillz :/

Anyway, there is some relevance to the pic, as the feather-light silks featured are from Enchanted Silks... which Buffie Barmy has just re-opened under the previous moniker of Collar Me Sexy. As well as restocking her existing silks, she's working on new outfits, so keep an eye out! The deserves-to-be-legendary midnight mania board is back as well, so get down there and give it a slap.

Not long now...

Preparations for Fantasy Faire 2013 are entering their final stages before the Faire opens next weekend. I'm really excited to say I've been accepted as an offiial blogger, and I'll be working with Luas, Elvenbreath, Skinthesis, and Black Veil Outfitters. Yay!

To keep up to date with all the latest Faire news, keep an eye on the official blog. This year, thanks to Elysium Hynes, there will be pinterest boards showing sim snapshots and shopping guides, and you can also check out the Fantasy Faire in SL's group pool on Flickr.

Now I know the truth

I caught the amazing video for Ellie Goulding's 'Anything Can Happen' recently (I know, I know, I'm so out of the loop). She wears two looks in the video, one of them being a fantastical, grecian draped gown.

I don't know if it would be possible to create a close approximation of this look as there's lots of volume and fluid draping, but it was so beautiful and inspirational, I thought I'd have a go at interpreting it, just for fun.

Delicious Delilah silks

'Kay, before I get stuck into telling you about this recent release from Delicious, I just wanted to mention a really neat extra that comes with the new Aeva skins I mentioned last night. (I didn't spot it until now, DERP.) Pre-tinted mesh feet. Yup, no more messing with huds or anything like that; each tone of the four new Aeva skins includes matching mesh feet in six sizes, plus alphas.

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 15, Licorice

Licorice

This colour wasn't too hard to match, in fact I found I had tons of things that would match... and somehow ended up becoming a cowgirl (I think it might have been the hat). I had a harder time finding a photo location. Most of the Western-themed sims  tried seemed to be inaccessible (maybe group only), uninspiring, or very strict on Victorian era clothing.

Full credits after the jump, but I wanted to mention the skin which is brand new from Aeva (formerly Heartsick). Creator Amesha Jewell is having a hard time at the moment as her computer is giving up the ghost, but she managed to release four new skins.

New from Soedara: Kara-Khitan silk and chastity belt

It's late, so imma make this quick. The latest release from Soedara is chastity belt / set of silks which comes in a big box of awesomeness with myriad ways of wearing.

The silks belt is constructed as a chastity belt, and you can choose which of the eight different skirt styles to wear, or layer different styles up.  Front and back skirts are added separately so you could also experiment with wearing a short skirt in front and a long skirt in back... or whatever else you wanted to do.

Sunday 7 April 2013

Dyisi from Evie's Closet

I wasn't sure about this outfit at first. It took me a while to commit to buy it. It's intended for satyrs, fauns, and anyone else who might have special legs that need showing off. (Note: the outfit doesn't include any specialty legs with it. You'll need your own.) I don't really spend much time as a non-human character, so hmm.

The matching boots, though? That was a no-brainer, especially as they were only 75L. You always need good boots, SL and RL!

So I bought the boots there and then... and eventually caved in and went back for the outfit. It's Evie's, I figured, so of course it's going to be top-notch... and I can always wear it as a top with skirts.

Love roleplay? Love shopping?

There's a new roleplay shopping event on the way, and I can't wait.

So many favourites will be participating in this event. Regulars will include The White Armory, Soedara, Roawenwood, Evie's Closet, Kouses's Sanctum, The Plastik, Silkworms, and Aeva/Heartsick. Guests will include Arwen's Creations, Fallen Gods, and Zaara.

That's just a small sampling of the stores involved. A lot of those listed I don't know so well, so it will be nice to discover some new stores. A full listing is included at the end (or you can read more about it on the We Love Role-Play blog.

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 14, Pink Flamingo

Pink Flamingo

I had a peek at Softpaw's post for Pink Flamingo earlier, and she says she went with the spirit of the colour rather than an exact match. I'd like to add a resounding "me too!" to that.

It was quite a tricky colour to match - it's one of the flourescents, and again seemed half way between one colour (pink) and a second (purple) but wasn't quite the third (mauve?). The fluoro colours seem to pack quite a punch too.

Something wicked...

~Soedara~ Here Comes Wicked - Of the Dark

Wickedness is a myth invented by good people to account for the curious attractiveness of others Oscar Wilde

'Here Comes Wicked' is the latest release from Soedara and just like Shaman Enchantress, it's pretty dark, and mostly for bad girls. Very bad girls.

A morning of pale spring

The days here have lengthened but are certainly "still clinging to winter's chill". So, while it's still too cold this Easter to comfortably spend time outdoors, there's lots of time to catch up on reading and explore what's new in SL!

The White Armory have just launched a new series of delicate elven gowns, with the first two in the series being the aqua-toned 'Heart of Grace' and the blush-tinted 'Elven Blessing'. Both feature gauzy shoulder capes and an empire line corset/stomacher with overskirt.
