New from The.Plastik at Frost and TDRF

I've been having more issues with taking photos in the last few days - sometimes the image comes out completely scrambled, sometimes almost completely black with just a few meshes showing, or sometimes there'll be a transparent space where my arms, head, or entire body should be.

This could be cool if I wanted to make a surrealist art statement, but as I just want to grab a few nice pics featuring fun clothes 'n' things, it's VERY frustrating. In between times, I did manage to squeeze out some pics with intact and visible body parts, so phew. Next will be final post in the crayon colour challenge, I hope...

This post, I'm slinking around in the corset-y Karmiel mesh bodysuit from The.Plastik, which makes a great alternative camisk. It's currently at The.Plastik's booth at the F R O S T fair which runs until 5 January. You'll find the Slink nail appliers I used (close-up of just one of the options after the jump), and lots of special limited editions of recent releases like the Morgana gowns or Furia dresses.

You might also want to check out the two gift trees at Frost, under which you'll find freebies and dollarbies from the fair participants.

The djinn

Augurer, formerly of The Library, has started up the .Luminary. line, and sent the inventive Cwen outfit out to bloggers. It was created in response to a customer request, and to me it has a flavour of the Middle East - almost like a shalwar kameez.

The outfit consists of the main one-piece, plus separate shoulder piece, and of course alpha.

The overskirt is transparent mesh which doesn't work so well for me - I suspect it might be another mac problem (if anyone on a PC wants to chime in, please do!). So, in the second photo, I used a heavy hand with the blur tool in photoshop. As the outfit is mod (yay!), it's possible to make the skirt opaque if desired.

I did mess around with my shape a bit to achieve optimal fit for this outfit, but I don't mind doing that. If you'd rather not, make sure you try the demo and are happy with it.

Soedara's Saga of Valkyrja

Some photos of Soedara's Saga of Valkyrja chastity belt - silks outfit. I have to say, it's a total steal of an oufit, as you basically get the equivalent of a fatpack for 450L!

At the moment, there are two sets of the outfit, both with gold metal. Set 1 includes the silk colours creamy, pink, white, lilac, blue, apple, red, and yellow. Set 2 has peach, soft pink, silvery, mint, icy, lavender, and black.

Christmas gifts

Merry Christmas! This is a quick post to share some Christmas gifts with you... the Advent calendars have come to an end at Krystal, so you can grab the last tiara and last gown on on the boards for 0L. (The other items are still available for 10-40L each.)

The necklace and earrings are a gift from House of Rain - look for the blue box under the tree.

The skin is a special holiday offer from La Petite Morte - a special edition of Reagan for just 50L.

Also, if you get a chance, check out the giving circle gifts at Fallen Gods -  there are gifts from Fallen Gods, Libertine, Boudoir, Evie's Closet and more!

Always winter, but never Christmas

It's never Christmas in Narnia, but it is here... Merry Christmas!

The amazing creations at Evie's Closet certainly make it something of an enchanted wardrobe, and just until 26th December you can avail of a great offer.

If you buy the special Iseult winter gown for 500L, you will receive the same amount in store credit.

(I immediately spent most of my credit on a set of the new Tauriel outfit!)

The coat is from Junbug at The Seraphim Social (don't delay, the round is over in a few days) and the hair is another characterful new release from Calico. Some of the ornaments are part of the hair (the leaf, feather and twig clusters) while the forehead diadem is a separate piece.

You really can customize this to your heart's content, as the hair-hud allows you to select colours for the overall hair texture, roots, and dreadlocks. You can also remove the dreadlocks if you like, and the hud facilitates really easy tinting. There are also then lots of different options for the leaves, feathers, twigs and diadem jewel, while the diadem metal can be silver or gold.

Events coming up in the new year

I applied for, and got accepted as, a blogger for the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, yay! The insane amounts of envy I experienced on seeing various fabulous items on other blogs were my main motivation for this. The event seems to be getting better and better with each round too.

The event doesn't open till February 1 though, so you've plenty of time to recover from the holidays. Cheeky Pea's participation in the event has just been announced, and you can look forward to offerings from Cheeky Pea, On a Lark, Deviance, The Forge, May's Soul, and loads more. See the full list (four pages) here!

We Love Role-Play will be taking a break in January, so you have until 31 December to take advantage of discounts at the current round, before a new round starts on 4 February.

The Fantasy Collective will be having a 'mini-round' starting on 20 January, while the next full round will start on 20 February. More details nearer the time!

Inspiration Point hunt & shoes from Lassitude & Ennui

So in-between grabbing Advent gifts last night, I wandered over to the Inspiration Point sim hunt and scored a bunch of stuff for 0L.

It's not specifically RP-oriented but there are some very nice items you'll be able to incorporate into a look (and probably do a better job than me!) My favourites include the fur collar and muff from The Secret Store, plus the silk tees from House of Fox. HOF also have a fabulous, sleek red dress/tunic as a hunt prize.

I finished the look with skirts from an older Evie's Closet outfit and gorgeous shoes from Lassitude & Ennui, which are at the current round of  We Love Role-Play (close-up after the jump).

Both hunt and W<3RP run until 31 January, so hopefully you'll find some time over the holidays to check them out, if you so desire!

Free skins!

The 7 Deadly s{K}ins  VIP group is free to join at the moment (usually 99L), and there's a whole year's worth of group gifts out!

Head to the mainstore,  and grab a landmark to the VIP room where you will find some gifts on the walls and some under the tree.

This offer probably won't last very long so take advantage while you can.

Misery and mountains, arrows and bows

I can't keep up with all the fab new releases at Soedara - this outfit, Mountain Dweller, is about three releases old now, at least.

It's another great winter outfit, including short and long cloaks, mesh skirt and two versions of a mesh top, uggie boots, armwarmers, circlet and a horn. There are two versions of the horn - one is scripted so click it for horn-blowing animation and sound (it's pretty fun).

The outfit doesn't include the thigh pouch (part of Soedara's Nudzahui) or the dagger (old hunt prize from Primus).

By the way, I love the skin in these pictures. Lorde from Essences is just out at The Dressing Room Fusion for the bargain price of 70L. There are three different makeups, but unfortunately my Lindens ran out after the first one! (I tried to buy more, but got an error. Grrr. Oh well, TDRF is open for a couple of weeks...)

Lady Leather - new from Junbug!

New from Junbug is the Lady Leather outfit. It's an original mesh tunic with mesh skirt add-ons - so you can be a lady by day and a huntress by night (or vice versa).

It makes me think of the old black and white film The Wicked Lady, featuring a 17th century beauty who gets up to all sorts of naughtiness as a highway-woman.

Sugar Plum

Ok, I think I managed to get a fairly close colour match this week - thanks to a Kunglers top I picked up in the Dressing Room Fusion quite a while ago.

The rest of the outfit comprises a older sculpt skirt I grabbed in Fishy Strawberry when their sale was on, arm warmers from On a Lark's Beau outfit, fur shrug from Indyra's Claudette outfit, and a hat from Milk Motion at the current round of C88. (It started out white, but I tinted it.)

Sun on snow

So many events, so little time!

The gown is from the current round of  at The Dressing Room Fusion but if you like it, better hurry, as there are only a few days left before the round changes over. It's from Glow Studio and available in three different colours, only 70L each.

The parasol starring in these pictures is from Okami at  We Love Role-Play, while the hair is from Mina at the same event. The rings and necklace are from The Forge at the fabulous Jewelry and Accessory Expo, and the nails are part of The Plastik's newest releases exclusively at Frost.

Free stuff, group gifts, and a dollarbie

I've been spending a lot of lindens lately (Arcade, Jewelry Expo, C88 etc etc...) so before I splashed out again, I thought I do some economising! Today's post features two looks which altogether cost a total of 1L.  A lot of the items are gifts from free-to-join groups, one is a dollarbie, and some are advent prizes.

The first look (very Merida!) features a dollarbie gown from Creative Chaos. The second look (after the jump) is a slave girl group gift from Delicious, there are a lot more ways to wear it, and the group is free to join, as always.

Hair for both, and the earrings from the second look, are prizes from the Emo-Tions group advent board. (It's just been switched form a current-day-only board to one which will give you all past gifts also. It can be a little laggy though, so you will probably need to wait a little while for delivery. (I'd suggest not slapping all the boards at once - maybe wait a bit in-between. And only slap each once or it will lag the system even more!)

Another cool thing about it - the gifts are either unisex or include female and male gifts.

Skins are group gifts from Al Vulo or YS&YS, and the poses are from the Advent gifts at Picture This. Again, you can also get the older gifts, and not just the current day's, and you don't even need to be a group member.

Crayon colour challenge: Week 49, Winter Wizard

Winter Wizard

Ooops. For no good reason, I have fallen behind with the colour challenge again.

I'm breaking one of my self-imposed challenge rules again, as I've used (a different colour of) this top previously. For another colour challenge post. Double ooops.

The top in quest is from The Plastik, as are the jeans (jeans! on this blog! I know, shocking, right?!). The Atlass jeans are a new release, and I won't tell anyone you're wearing them on your RP sim if you don't.

Also; more beauties from  Jewelry and Accessory Expo - this time a set (necklace, earrings, bracelets, ring) from E-Clipse. The shoes are from Easterling by Cristine Easterling of the Slave Dressing Room blog and clothing line.

More about the crayon colour challenge on Softpaw's blog.

PS I've been drinking. Does it show?

The Raven Goddess

This post is a liberal interpretation of a raven goddess figure - specifically the Morrigan, the mysterious and elusive Celtic deity associated with war and sovereignty (not to be confused with Morgana le Fay from Arthurian legend).

The images were inspired by this amazing headdress from Emo-tions which has definitely got the 'wow' factor. I picked it up at the Jewelry and Accessory Expo a couple of days ago and was really taken aback by the amount of talent and creativity on display there.

On a more critical note, I did find the Expo layout quite difficult to follow and wasn't at all impressed by the 'teaser vendors' - showing items coming in 4 days, 10 days etc. I appreciate the organisers want to maintain traffic for the duration of the event, but I'm not sure that's a good way to do it.

Hopefully the organisers will review these ahead of next year's event, because apart from those niggles, I was very impressed and spent quite a few lindens. I'm also very pleased that the Expo gachas gave out quite a few rares :D  There are also lots of gifts and dollarbies around the stores too, so even if you're broke, it's worth going to check out.

Gifts at the 25L Holiday Bazaar

You've probably seen or heard about the 25L Holiday Bazaar already (the Good Gorean has featured some outfits in this post)... I finally got round to sticking my head in last night.

Because I'm an inveterate freebie hound, the first thing I did was scoop up all the gifts from under the tree at the landing point. (I'm back there tonight to check the actual offers!) There are all sort sorts of lush role-play oriented gifts from your favourite 25L Tuesday merchants.

The event runs until 13 December - not long - so don't delay and take your taxi to the event!

Note: You will get booted from the sim if you exceed the 100 script limit (a really generous limit in my opinion)!

PS Just discovered there are even more gifts in some of the stores around the bazaar... happy days!

Docile Kiyoshi is new from Soedara, and is Marbella's first camisk for Pani slaves. Appropriately, the outfit has subtle oriental inflections, most obviousin the hair ornaments and accompanying shoes.

As is typical for Soedara, you get a lot of different options for your money. The 'versatile' packs have a hud which allows you to choose between 8 different textures for your outfit. These include various plain, sheer, and gold-embellished options. The pictures show two of the 'versatile' options - pink and black.

If you go for the 'prints' option, you have one damask-fabri texture for your outfit, but 8 different colours! Either way, the outfit is 325L.

Also included are a hair flower and fan-shaped hair ornament, necklace, armbands, bracelets, and the afore-mentioned shoes and huds. (NB The anklets are borrowed from another Soedara outfit.)

More from We Love Role-Play

Some fabulous stuff in this round of We Love Role-Play. I have to admit to really liking everything in these pictures.

The hair is from Calico, and it's another fabulous style. This colour is from one of the new W<3RP exclusive packs (bistre from the Darks pack). As well as changing your hair shade, the hud allows you to tint your hair, and to change the colours of the headband, the beads and the metal dangle. I just love the textures in this hair too - honestly, they look so real.

The jewelry (Chloes Collier necklace and silver cuff bracers) from Enfant Terrible are also really customisable. They're available in five base colours, and once you've bought your set you choose from any of 12 textures, or two (necklace) or three (cuffs) sets of gems.

New at The Plastik

The Plastik - Ilazriel bodysuit in Padme
Among the newest releases over at The Plastik are these two bodysuits - I think you could probably get away with them on a GE sim!

One of the two outfits is mesh - Ilazriel - and it does seem to run a little large, so try the demo. I usually wear size S in mesh, but I went down to the XS and think it fits really well.

Nynaeve is the system clothing layer bodysuit and looks quite different (well, as different as 'hardly any fabric' can look!). I personally prefer the mesh, but check 'em out and see what you think...

Junbug at Geeks 'n' Nerds fair

If you want to get down to the Geeks 'n' Nerds fair you'd better hurry - it only runs for a couple more days until December 8th.

What I really love about the Zelda outfit is that all the pieces are separate - boots, breeches and doublet. So you can mix and match as you please.  The beautiful Cersei gown meanwhile is inspired by Game of Thrones / ASOIAF but it as it's perfectly modest it's suitable for lots of roles.

Round 8 of We Love Role-Play now open... and a new gown from TWA!

It's late (again!) so not too many words tonight.

Round 8 of We Love Role-Play has just opened, with discounted items from lots of your favourite fantasy and roleplay creators. This round, you will find some extra cheapies and freebies in celebration of the holidays. Check under the trees in each of the buildings.

Featured items in this post include skin from La Petite Morte, hair from Mina, and the beautiful Ensorcelled piercing necklace from Ellabella.

The gown isn't at the event, rather it's a recent release from The White Armory called 'Moors of Winterfell', and it's available in a range of different colours. I'm wearing 'Nightshade', a northern-feeling black and sepia combination!

Free from Just a Girl at Port Haifa

Just a Girl is vendor of the week at Port Haifa and there's not one but two free gift outfits to be picked up over the next few days. Both are wintry outfit - one is similar to a classic kirtle while the other is more like a camisk.

You'll find both just at the docks at Port Haifa - the special stall is almost right in front of you as you step off the ship. Wander a little bit further and you'll come across the freebies section with gifts from Shack, Delicious and others.

The hair featured is another gift - Truth recently sent out a variety pack of the Fernanda hair as a subscribo group gift. If you aren't a member, you can still sign up (free!) and retrieve the hair from the past notices.

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 48, Quick Silver

Quick Silver

For this round of the colour challenge, it's probably fairly obvious that I focused on the 'Silver' and I kind of ended up with a Hollywood glamour (silver screen!) look.

The gown is from Molichino, which is marketplace only at the moment as far as I know. You've likely seen the fur stole featured a lot - it's from Ryvolter, was part of a previous C88 round, and is pretty damn fabulous. The necklace from Yummy is at the current round of C88 so you have only a few days to get down there if you want it!

More info about the crayon colour challenge at Softpaw's blog.

Soedara's objects of desire

Just catching up with recent releases from Soedara - one of which is the opulent Gayat al-Muna chalwar and the matching tiara (sold separately).

If you read the enclosed notecard, you'll see that Gayat al-Munu means 'object of desire', hence the name of the post... and these objects from Soedara are very desirable indeed.

The clothing set contains mesh harem pants, belly chain, several version of the mesh top in different sheerness levels, necklace, earrings, armbands and bracelets.
