30L Saturday's Midwinter Fair - hunt prizes

If you haven't been to Midwinter Fair yet, I suggest you dash down there as quick as you can!

Not only are there the usual 30L offers for the duration of the Fair, but there's a mini-hunt on the sim. Some designers also have a second prize back at their mainstore.

There are some great outfits to be found - my favourites are below - and also odds and ends like furniture, seasonal gifties, and even an intriguing musical instrument from Silk Worms!

It's Midwinter Fair time!

Lots of your favourite Gorean designers (including Luas, Gem Designs, May's Soul, Trident, Soul Effects and Vigo) gathered together in one sim, with some special 30L offers and a hunt with lots of freebie items.  What's not to to love?!

As well as clothing for slaves and free, there's some nice furniture and landscaping, and best of all, quite a few skins for 30L too. Full price items too, so don't assume everything's on sale.

Here's two of my favourite haul items - both were 30L offers. (One is the silk, the other is the rug!)

The lucky chairs at FallnAngel Creations have been restocked with new prizes, and I was lucky enough to win this outfit - Gia silks in blue - from the silks lucky chair.

Zaara - Red tag sale

There's a red tag sale at Zaara until 25th December - look for the outfits marked with a red tab, and pick yourself up some 50% off bargains!

Zaara's specialty is ethnic clothes and jewelry of the Indian sub-continent. Their Nizam set - especially the head jewels - are famous in SL!

Zaara designs are not explicitly designed for roleplay wear, but there's no reason why you couldn't have a look and see what might be possible.

For instance, I found a lehenga choli that could make a nice bellydance outfit, and a couple of tops that coud be a fun addition to a kajira's wardrobe!

Of course, it helps that the outfits on sale are in the kajira's favourite colour, red...

Free silks - Christmas gift from Gem Designs

Thanks to Gem Designs, who've left out no less than three colourways of the 'New Flower' silks as a Christmas gift.

The jewel-tone silks (gold, green and purple) each come with long and short skirt options. Otherwise they're fairly simple and straightforward - but awfully pretty!

It's been a while, but it seems there's a flurry of creativity over at Silks of the Siren - hooray! It's great to see new things from Draelle Chandler and hopefully 2012 will see lots of her stunning creations.

There's a new red camisk out, and some silver-themed outfits for Twisted Krissmuss (only 100L), but I'm most excited about the new silks - Siren's Beauty.

The Sixty Linden Weekends have a huge mix of merchants. I always run to check the latest photo backgrounds from PNP and see if there's nice hair on offer from Ava-Tare.

Roawenwood are back in the 60L groove with this gorgeous offering, the Isolda silk in white.

Batul is a really fun new silk from Shack, with PG and 'adult' (after the jump!) versions.

I love silks from FallnAngel Creations. Aside from how beautifully baroque they almost inevitably are, they're so easy to fit as they're mostly on clothing layers. So, yay!

Racist abuse in Second Life

I'm not Asian, but my default avatar is.

Why some people might get a kick out of calling me an 'asian whore' - when I'm wearing a medieval gown! - I don't know.

Unfortunately mindless cretins like this exist in SL as well as RL.

I've reported the three sub-humans and will be in contact with the sim owner to ask how they propose to deal with this behaviour on their sim.

Soedara - Goddess Nyx silks

Nyx, the Greek goddess of night, is an elusive figure in mythology, but considered "a figure of exceptional power and beauty".

Any girl wanting to pay tribute to the mysterious night and to steal a little of that magic for herself could do worse than take a look at Sodeara's Nyx silks.

It was like all my Christmases come at once when this little beauty popped up in my inventory, courtesy of Moonriver Darcy!

You possibly already know the original Mirror Cage set - well, Moonriver has re-invented it in enchanting shades of green and aqua, paired with silver accessories.

Demons and Angels - Viking Princess outfit

This is an interesting outfit for sure - I came across it on the marketplace when I was searching for silks.

It's by fantasy outfitters Piper Shan Designs, otherwise known as Demons and Angels, and it's called 'Viking Princess'.

I really like it, but I can't see it being suitable for a kajira, and I doubt it would pass as a kirtle (what do you think?).

However, I'm sure some Elven huntresses or warrior maidens could put it to some very good use!

What I love about Tian Xia Hu's roleplay oufits is that they're so much FUN.

Take the HuoDie outfit for instance -which is part the the 60L weekend sales today and tomorrow - it's super-sassy and ridiculously cute.

You've got fur and boots to keep you warm... and plenty of skin on show means everyone will feel the heat!

Second moon - Exquisite Beauty lehenga choli

This outfit isn't new... it's just another one of Moonriver Darcy's stunning creations!

This beautiful black and gold lehenga is part of Moonriver's Exquisite Beauty line, all of which use the same textures.

(Wikipedia explains that the gagra or lehenga choli is the traditional clothing of Rajasthan and Gujarat... choli is the top, lehenga the skirt, and the shoulder drape is a dupatta.)

Solange! - Innocence silks

Yay! A brand new release from Solange.

This beguilingly feminine silk has been a long time in the making - the official release notecard says it's a remake of one of Solange's very first silks, and she's been waiting to complete it for five years.

Quality designs - Shanaya silks

I saw this silk on the marketplace the other day and thought "hmmm, that looks nice".

Then I went to the store, and thought 'wow'!

Quality designs specialise in medieval and celtic clothing, so you'll find lots of gowns and other outfits. I was very impressed and there are definitely a couple of outfits calling me back.

In the meantime, here's one of their newest offerings, the Shanaya silk.

Dream Things - New avatar gift pack (silks, camisk and gown)

Hmm, maybe I'm a bit slow on the uptake today, but I only noticed when I uploaded these pics that all the outfits are in different tones of purple - lavenders, lilacs, plums and grapes.

It gives the gift pack a little extra 'something' - it sits together like a mini-fashion collection.

Pia of Dream Things has got all bases covered with this gift too - there's a camisk, set of silks and a gown, so if you haven't quite figured out your RP station in life, at least you can experiment in style!
