Support legitimate content creators!

Tomorrow is the opening of the One Voice event, a fundraiser in support of Gala Phoenix's legal battle against content theft.

Some wonderful Second Life designers are participating, including League, Solange, Belleza, Chop Zuey, Glam Affair, Adam and Eve, SLink, Exile, Wasabi Pills, Laqroki, Bare Rose, Purple Moon, Adorkable... and so many more, it's insane!

Each will be providing donation goodies of which 50% or 100% will be going to support Gala.

(Items in the pic are not from the event, they were already in my inventory.)

If you'd like to know more about the background to the event, others have written about it far more eloquently than I ever could! So, here are some links to reading material:

Hey, I just wanted to say I am glad that there appears to be some support for legitimate content creators. However, there is sadly a lot of acceptance of it publicly, especially still in the gorean or medi-fantasy subgenre!

There is a TON of people okay with purchasing and redistributing stolen content and have no qualms or perhaps not even realize it is the case.

Some common items you might see out and about that are stolen are items from these following creators... I really wish there was more awareness about it.

[REDACTED] - previously also sold stolen Bethesda/Skyrim products, but DMCA was filed. Still stuff from Assassins creed & more

[REDACTED] is also a lot of stolen content.

The worst part about a lot of them is that the direct import of stolen goods from video games majorly hurts the SL economy for legitimate creators. Often times a big indicator is the price and perms of the products offered - case in point is the second store linked. Those statues would take hours and hours from hand, who would sell them for 25c USD? No one. Especially not full perms. It saddens me to think people are so okay with theft.

  2. Hi,

I had to remove the two store references in your comment (without proof - which I don't have, although you may well do - I didn't feel it was right to name them), hope you understand why. Couldn't see how to do this in blogger so I re-posted your comment.
